Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

What’s Next for Lowe’s

Do you think Marvin will make more cuts to store staffing once the covid 19 stuff is done?

Look at home the stores are now, half the staff and sales are up. For someone who is all about the money this would be very tempting.

The best thing that could happen to Lowe’s is the high priced associates who always complain leave. If you are high priced and support the company then awesome. Stay. If you are high priced and so amazing then go someplace else and show us all how we miss you. Lol

I am not waiting until the economy improves, I’m out looking now. However it is difficult to find long term employment when everyone is looking to hire temporarily until this blows over.

I have a feeling that once the economy gets back on it's feet that a lot of current Lowe's employees will be looking for other work without any additional prodding by the company. My store has been running with over 30 associates/managers out and can tell you we are all burnt out from trying to keep everything together. I have part timers working 50+ hours in our store. This is not sustainable over the long haul.

The increased workload caused by the current pandemic is only the latest straw that has been added to the camels back that has been on overload for many months. Many of the long time Specialists were already considering exiting Lowe's, partially due to their February 2020 pay cut but also due the the exponential increase in customer care issues created due to our new 3rd party/cross-dock delivery system and months long inventory shortages (hard to hit your required SPH when your continually out of stock of the products customers are requesting). I even know that some of the managers are ready to throw in the towel. Many of these senior people will not be easily replaceable and are already shouldering the workload of two or more normally gifted associates/managers. At some point it simply isn't worth it, particularly when the company is either cutting pay and/or woefully fails to project any semblance of sincere gratitude for what contributions we make towards the success of this company. Welcome to the "new" Lowe's.
