I'm sure everyone received the upskill email. This is precursor to the coming round of RIFs... they'll make the case that you were offered training to prepare for the new world order. Get your house in order because it rolls down hill fast.

November is Guaranteed. Take it to the bank. Company is starting to see who’s really needed and who is not. All those years of micromanaging and centralization has bit them in the a–. Many redundant Management teams are useless right now.

Every non union employee is always in danger of being riffed. Except maybe for now. How long now lasts I’m not sure but with Verizon being so important to keep people connected it would look and to drop people.
Upskill will help you do something Verizon needs right now and maybe after your riffed you’ll have those skills to use.
If the rules haven't changed, new employees and folks who recently changed positions were safe for their first 3 months from being RIFed.
Amazon corporate employees typically have breakdowns within 2-3 years. I wouldn't depend on Bezos for steady income.
