Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Missed Opportunities

This was definately a time when our leaders should have risen to the occasion of "Shaping Education" and "Putting People First".

The "My Pillow Guy" is making mask. Lowes has given Staff a raise for hazard pay.

Follett did not step up when the demand for online learning became worldwide.

FAIL

This situation reminds me of the days when Baker & Taylor informed us that we had to work during a blizzard because "the Governor of New Jersey doesn't have jurisdiction over the company." I'm not making this up! So when we were told that something called Follett Corp. was purchasing B&T we were very enthused about the change. And then we discovered that we had gone from the frying pan into the fire. Benefits are a little better but that's about it!

Public budgets will be very tight going forward, they need to pay off the corona virus bills. It is likely they will decrease spending in the libraries, schools until they pay off some of these bills, rightfully so. Follett has a very difficult road ahead.

Shut your mouth! FSS is paying all the bills! Ask them, they'll tell you!

Another lost opportunity by Follett to take the lead in online education. A fine example of ineffective leadership by FSS and management.

And your surprised?
If there is nothing in it for them, not going to happen.
All about the money for the family, hell with the people that brings the money to them.
