Managers at Macy’s (mostly STM positions) were furloughed and some were laid off on 4/3/2020. Is belk doing this? They usually copy Macy’s tactics. Also some store managers at Macy’s had to take up to a 30% pay cut

Managers, especially HR types, will sit firmly in offices in relatively comfy chairs with fridges, microwaves, coffee, tea, mood lighting and personal music (that horrendous, piped-in house music/racket is verboten in offices!). The managers' sole purpose is to make sure associates do not have any comfort whatsoever while they, the managers, eat big, store-funded breakfasts, with cell phones firmly in hand firing off texts discussing where they are going for their extended lunch breaks. Some things don't change.
