Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Reducing executive salaries to prevent LRs

I'm seeing an increase in companies reducing the pay of vp and up level employees to help keep employees from getting LRd. Disney was the last I saw. Reduction in pay ranges from 20-30% depending on position. What are the chances Cisco does this? I vote for fat chance in hell.

Interesting how someone from ELT or HR pushed us away from the actual topic. Old effective tactics.

The true issue is we are a nation of thin-skinned, offended, triggered, "my opinion is important", non-empowered nobodies. 90% of the people reading this, if we were born 200 years ago, wouldn't make it much past 50. The sooner we all realize that life is tough; we born, we live, and we die - the better. If you can find some part of happiness along the way; good for you. If not, well that's life...deal with it. My opinion means nothing to anyone outside my skull.

That’s not really true. Everybody IS talking about LR’s, only “later”

There is absolutely no talk of LRs. Cisco has got the resources to get through this.

There needs to be a solution for high rents, overpriced homes, inflated stock market, overpriced education and healthcare. Greed is everywhere in big cities. This leads to high salary and results in cycles of layoffs every year.

This was all exposed by corona pandemic. Most of us will struggle to pay these overpriced items now due to pandemic affecting everything for 2-3 years. Therefore society needs a reboot with the way things are done now.

According to the yahoo finance link below, MM aka V2Momma is the highest paid employee in CSCO. How is that possible?

CR - $26 million/year
MM - $15 million/year
KK - $14 million/year
GE - $13 million/year

That is $68 million for four completely incompetent employees, while engineers are struggling to receive a 2% raise.

At Cisco? No chance, a bunch of greedy management with zero clue of compassion and could care less if their workers will struggle if they get laid off as long as they are at home nice and comfortable.

Gone are those days. Chambers did it one year back before he retired instead of have an LR. That was just before the trend of annual LR's began.

Cisco executives are trying to extract every dime from the company. These are salesmen, not business leaders.

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts is forfeiting his entire salary for the year. Oh and they are hiring.
