Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Bank of America pledges no layoffs

What are the chances we'll get the same pledge from our leadership? I mean, if one bank can find a way to do it, then I'm pretty sure all have a way to make it happen. The only question is are they willing to do so. And knowing Wells Fargo, the answer to that is most likely a big, fat NO.

Although the epidemic is thought to be temporary, the long term effects may hurt some pieces of the effort to re-locate. For example, who will jump at the chance to share a small cube with 3 other people? And the open office where everyone is packed together? I would see the trend going in the opposite direction to avoid the risk of the virus spreading again in a 2nd wave. This whole experience may add pressure and or legislation to keep us separated longer.

I have not seen anything that location strategy is on hold and I am someone they told would need to relocate. Where are you seeing this?

They don’t announce them ahead of time to avoid panic and keep the business running. Typically you are blind sided Brought into a room and told the plans, run you over with a dump truck. Put it in reverse, run you over again to finish you off.

Where were they planning layoffs? I keep seeing people mention that but no mention of what LOB or anything.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge about layoffs, but the location strategy is on hold but not going away.

Epidemiologists say that the virus will go quiet down over the summer and then come back in the fall, probably stronger, and last until next spring.

Saul will need to admit that COVID-19 beat him.

The difference is Wells Fargo was in trouble and planning layoffs before the pandemic. They might put job cuts on hold for now but the bottom line hasn’t changed.
