Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Stop complaining!

As a single income family with young kids, I am just as worried about my job security in this climate as everyone else.

I am grateful to be Working for Enbridge who has generally treated me very well.

What a privilege to be able to sit back and complain that we are not getting Stellar dollars for working from home and not getting more money or more benefits. In this economy where many of my friends are out of work, we are really lucky to still have jobs, well paying, good jobs.

Most people would give anything to have a job with a regular pay check, and benefits.

Don’t forget all the people working in the grocery stores, waiting tables, stocking shelves, washing cars by hand, landscaping in the hot sun during summer, doing construction work, farm hands...stop and thank the universe and show some gratitude.

You can always look at others who have it better but then you are letting that rob you of the happiness for all that you have.

I hope everyone is ready for salary rollbacks. We easily make 20% more than equivalent jobs in non O&G and those good times are so over. And don’t get me started on the health of the pension plan.

I agree that the office workers who are now at home shouldn’t be complaining. Enbridge did the right thing and we should give them their props. That said, the existence of worse jobs and worse situation doesn’t give Enbridge a blank cheque to be sh–ty in the future. The company is going to be dealing with a completely new world when this ends and you’d be delusional to think their current warm and fuzzy approach to employees won’t come crashing down the second they feel like they won’t be gutted in the court of public opinion for downsizing staff.

you are complaining and wanting more working from home? as a USR we still go into all homes, but we generally deal with the poorest customers and filthiest of homes. we are feeling, on a daily basis that our families lives could be in danger due to our work! wake up

I know that if I were to point out something wrong, I would have a target on my forehead. Especially because I am female.

I have seen other females who have voiced concerns stealthily picked off during lay-off season.

I stay silent because I want to keep my job.

My problem with this company is how all levels of management tell us things are so great and wonderful, while if they look at the real situation things are burning to the ground. None of them want to do anything about it because they need to tell their managers things are great so they get a bonus and get to move up/on and leave problems for the next person.
