Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How long can Randall realistically hold on for?

I'm surprised T hasn't announced his departure yet. Whats the over/under on his departure as CEO? Will he remain through COVID-19?

Didn't he state months ago that he would be leaving at the end of 2020? Seems I recall reading that somewhere. He's been planning to leave for quite sometime now I think.

He wanted to leave T while the company was on a sugar high; but, that didn't happen and is out of the realm of possibilities now.

Don't worry. He will bail at the first possible chance he gets. He's got nothing left to implement at T and wants out as quickly as possible before the whole damn thing blows up in his face. Massive down-sizing, massive debt. Future for T doesn't look too good.

There is still time for a leader with vision to take the reins of this company and make something great out of it IF it happens soon. The first thing a new leader at the top would need to do is regain the trust and the respect of its employees. This leadership teams has absolutely none of either.

Depends, if the ATT TV or HBO Max products fall short of expectations (Even lowered Virus expectations) , I expect a shakeup at the top ranks come 2nd quarter reporting June. There's too much debt and corporate bond markets are about as stable as a house of cards these days, T debt is BBB and Baa2 , which is not great .. T has a pretty resilient business model (relative to other industries) but the bigger issue is commercial paper markets are going to seize up, and that means revolving debt for T is going to come at a premium and that means some serious cuts.

I give me a month before he is gone, two at the most.

The good news is that when he does go, and he will go at the end of the year, Stankey will not get either of the split Chairman/CEO positions. JS goes when RS goes.

It's public knowledge that he's staying until the end of the year, and possibly longer. I think he's a terrible CEO, but I'd still rather have him there than the Sociopath Stanky.

He will stay longer into 2020 than you'd like, because this chaos has taken the hedge fund hounds off his tail for a while. They're too busy trying to stay solvent, keep their yachts and mansions, and pay for their kids Ivy League tuition to worry too much about chasing Randy out of town right now. Lucky him, COVID meltdown lets him slink around as an underperformer even longer.
