It’s happening everywhere. Only a dummy would say they wouldn’t do layoffs now. Like the smart person said, perfect timing and this virus made it that much easier.

That makes no sense, every other company is doing layoffs at this time. Why would a company that was actually planning mass lay-offs before the ceiling dropped now not lay-off? It’s coming and I bet it will be more people. Warn list says 4/11.
I'm guessing. somewhat decently, they have put much of the mass layoff on hold during this tumultuous period in world history.
