Four (4) VP positions at corporate were eliminated.
This was announced about an hour ago. Don't know much more than that.
I heard a few Gen Merch execs were laid off last week
I have a hard time believing they're offering severance. They get a free pass due to the virus and they're going to pay out a severance? Doubtful. However, we're open minded on this site. If they are, please educate us.
So what departments were hit?
Tower layoffs were substantial and by phone Friday. No early retirement was offered, just the usual FVIA special. Friends, don’t let the store closures fool you. Revenue stream is typically very slow mid-semester. So sign your package and remember they are hiring, paying out bonuses and continuing to retool to do it cheaper without you. Follett Values in Action 2020 style, nothing novel here.
The fact that they’re offering severance for anybody is BS. They did not do that When they were shutting down stores. They offer two weeks. I turned it down and moved to another location because I could not afford that kind of a severance package. Worst decision of my life as I’m still with this c-appy company

The layoffs at the Ivory tower are the ones that were planned for April 1st. It's going to be employees that are nearing retirement. Follett is going to offer them early retirement and 15 week severance based on the rumors going around.
