Medical benefits through cobra are paid 3 months not vision or dental.
and i bet you 80% of those let go are unaware right now cause management are clueess as well
They will send you a new log in for ess since you are no longer employed by Follett.
Layoffs before month end saved Follett from paying your April health insurance. This is because they care about you. Now stare into the book and breathe deeply, taking in the wonderful library dust and the binding glue... You are getting sleepy, and feeling bad for the neerdowells outsourcing your job to Asia...
RM mentioned that Cobra info would be mailed to us, yet we have 14 days from official layoff date (mine was the 26th) to sign up. If I don’t see it by Tuesday, I’ll contact them again.
Why would ess be shut down? I see lawsuits down the tube, especially with layoffs before the federal law kicked April 1 regarding pay.
No need for RM if all the stores are closed.
Ess is no longer accessible.
Follett managed stores? What about the ISM stores? A portion of the geniuses in the Ivory Tower support those stores. But if the Family wants to throw their dividend money at the HO geniuses with zero ROI, that would amuse me!
Isn’t that 3/4 of the schools? Hopefully 3/4 of the vp’s, etc at home office will be let go. With stores closed what are they doing? Working from home??
Final checks, April 3rd. I was told Follett will pay for Cobra for 3 mths. No info on how to actually sign up
When are we getting our final checks?
One VP at corporate was terminated today. Don't know about anybody else because the office is shut down.
I haven't heard of any layoffs at HO. 6000+ in the field.
In theory, HO's only job is to support the field. With all the lay offs/terminations one has to wonder how many in the Ivory Tower have been laid off/terminated?
Laid off/fired workers please use this opportunity to job search. Good luck, better days are ahead.🌞
Jim, I am doing the very same thing. Tabulating my savings, unemployment and looking for jobs in my area. I need the health insurance Follett offers but If I can do something else with similar benefits, I'm gone.
Good luck bringing them back when this has settled down. I was let go this week and I am making every effort to NOT go back if asked.
