According to an article in the Wall Street Journal tonight. Hope it’s true.

Whats wrong with these people who crowd you. I went in to a convenient store just an hour ago , and this plump little woman about 30 was crowding me with close contact. What do I have to do to make you stay as far as possible from me. And by the way , why are you younger people all fat.
I want my Tier 2 and union dues back and we're done. Now there's no chance of full retirement with NS. I'll need that money back so I can invest in a good 401 k that matches much better. Check rrb and its $1500 .00 and my SS is $1325.00. at 62 . Most people who worked in a rail road shop dont live pass 65 anyway .So give me my money!!!
Unions are Useless. Get Used to it
And per the RRB website, yes, those currently receiving RRB unemployment who file claims between April 1 and July 31, 2020 WILL RECEIVE the $1,200 every two weeks. All you naysayers should check your facts before condemning those of us trying to communicate some good news.
I get what you’re saying, you just want to be appreciated for going above and beyond.. it’s not gonna happen with this group of people (i.e. shareholders) they’re completely out of touch with the working men and women and it never crossed their minds that they were putting good people out of a work. To you and me it’s paying bills and buying groceries, to them it’s literally a game of monopoly. I tried my hardest to do and learn everything I could and would pick up the slack for old timers that weren’t willing to learn computes and some of the lazy entitled that were higher on the roster. I got sent packing and a lot if guys like me did as well and now that’s all they have left to do the work in a lot of locations. Asking these people for a little extra for putting your health at risk is something they don’t care about. They feel you owe them something, like they’re doing you a favor. Truth is you’re a burden, they don’t like you and they could care less if you work there or not. They’ll just get someone even more desperate to do it. My best advice and I understand the time is not right at the moment but I’d be looking for another job every waking moment and get yourself out of that toxic environment that is the railroad.. I truly wish everyone the best of health and luck going forward..
At least I'll get $1200 to give back to them to pay my taxes railroad unemployment don't take out
What you mean to tell me we our arguing weather it was pre covid 19 and not. This is pathetic, they should be taking care of us then as well as now Pathetic
True for new claims only
That's right it's covid 19 layoffs not the corporate greed layoffs
Hate to bust any bubbles but if you where laid of prier to April 1st this didn't apply to you!!!!!
No . im not talking about taxpayers , Im talking about the N.S. might finally have our backs in a moment of crisis and say You guys desearve a couple bucks an hour more for basically giving us hazardly duty pay because we have to be there when other people can sit at home safe and collect a decent paycheck. Its a no brainer even low skilled jobs are doing it because they know , your basically putting your health on the line and the health of your family to keep the cars moving. I spend a lot of money on union dues . could you at least tell me what you have got on this?
In the long run, this is not a good idea. It will give the government an excuse to merge railroad retirement benefits with social security benefits. Why? Because if you receive extra financial help now from taxpayers, they will ultimately have a valid argument that they are entitled to YOUR railroad pension.
Contract this contract that. Im tired of it. All the company has to do is say you guys are going to get an additional 2 or 3 dollars an hour more for stepping up to the plate. Im sure the union guys wouldn't reject
We are under a contract which expired a long while ago.
Every grocery store worker , every truck driver are now seeing spikes in there pay for hazardous duty. what about us on the railroad? I have a feeling when this is over the only thing we will be getting is layed off.
Yes it is
It's not going to apply for RRB participants
I know I tweeted to all the major senators and reps working on the deal to not to forget railroaders
Go to the Wall Street Journal in-line and look up the article “What’s In The 2 Trillion Dollar Senate Coronavirus Bill”. Topics in the bill are listed alphabetically, so, go to R’s....it’s supposed to include any RRB unemployment recipients as far back as 2019.
Where does it say that in the journal? And is it for anyone drawing RR unemployment or are there restrictions?
Surprised usual they forget about the RR unemployed.
