It is a precarious time. We don’t know anything, we don’t know what’s coming. We can speculate all day, but it’s ultimately meaningless.
We need to start organizing our corporate stores before we start opening locations, and this includes the resellers.
Verizon, GoWireless, Cellular Sales... they’re all cut from the same cloth. They all depend on us staying silent, staying isolated from one another. They depend on in-fighting from Wireless and Wireline.
We have to look at the big picture. We have to accept the fact that Verizon will force us back into stores again, regardless of what is happening with the ongoing pandemic. We have to advocate for ourself because nobody will advocate for us when the time comes.
Do we really want retail employees dropping like flies? Who will be held accountable then? And if you survive, will Verizon assume the costs of your enormous hospital bill? What happens if you survive, only to have chronic and debilitating respiratory issues for the remainder of your life?
Is it worth it? Are we really that eager to march into the unknown and lay our lives on the line for a corporation that has spent the better part of the last 4 years dismantling every safety net we have?
What happens when, after this pandemic subsides, IF it subsides, we can hit our commission targets? Who will bear the burden for that? You and I both know it isn’t upper leadership. We are on the chopping block no matter which way you slice it. That’s the reality of it.
Unionize now because things will only get worse, and we won’t have this chance again.
