Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Hiring freeze?

Is there a hiring freeze now? Are there any areas of the bank that are still hiring? Can’t seem to get any clarity from management.

Contact the hiring manager and ask. Hiring manager is listed on the job req on the internal job site.

Two positions I applied for recently were cancelled and there are fewer listings overall. Not sure if they were backfill or new positions.

you are hearing that because it is true. if you apply for a job and do not live in the location for the job your app will get rejected. only way around this is if hiring manager cannot find qualified person in the job location, then an executive exception is required for hiring outside of that location.

I keep reading that there is a freeze on hiring any new remote workers.

Way to limit the talent pool, Wells.

How many times can we shoot ourselves in the same foot?

There are remote jobs, but one must live near one of the hubs. This probably doesn't apply to all jobs.

The numbers in the end will surely show that WF spent more money than anything gained. Cost of offices (NY Metro real estate, duh !)/recruiting (NY Metro Salaries, duh !)/lost talent (many of us know the systems in place very well)/Open Offices (complete waste of money, duh !)etc. will wipe clear anything in the silly location strategy vision... In 2025, the new CIO will have a Remote Strategy Vision where office leases expire and teams are back at home.

There are ZERO new reqs that are approved for telecommuting for Saul's org.

For other orgs, and if you are a telecommuter, you could more than likely go through the process and potentially get the job because of COVID19, keeping in mind that the location strategy could spill over to other org's other than Saul's.

180,000 plus people successfully working remotely... Saul's location strategy is the big joke of the firm.

Any remote positions listed? that would be a complete shock. Are non-tech risk remote jobs offered ?
