There are several states that are opening up retail (malls, outlets, stand alone etc) in the next few days. Within these areas are Verizon corporate locations that will remain closed. Why? In my opinion Verizon is putting more work behind the scenes into what stores they will shutter down then reopen. The communication of safety is partially true but it could very well be a smoke screen before store closing and lay-off announcements. Think about it...these corporate locations could open up with limited staff and hours but they just choose to keep them all closed when all the other retail areas move forward. Maybe they realize that the indirects/resellers can handle most of the business now. Online/.com has certainly taken away from retail store visits for the future. Look for a major consolidation of corporate retail very soon.
