Grow up cry-babies. You work at a great company with great benefits. All companies have a primary, fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. Public companies don’t have a responsibility to guarantee you lifetime employment. So quit your moaning and focus on your work.

Forget for a minute that you work at Chevron and that we don't know how successful we are in preserving the NPV of our signature projects (just kidding, we all know).

Seriously now, would you invest your hard earned dollars in a stock that just offers you a return of your investment (aka dividend)? I don't see a growth path for Chevron anytime soon frankly, not with the results that we keep showing in our projects execution. So what is the alternative for Berber? Just keep playing his soundbite over and over and over again, with MW by his side nodding his head with his long neck.

A few cents per share does not cut it for me...there are many more out there with similar dividends and better business plans.

The only people who care about the dividend are those who have millions of dollars invested in chevron stock and are relying on that dividend for a steady source of income.

Your best policy for job survival is to carry a knife and walk around with your back to the wall. Nobody else at work will be looking out for you.

@nhi No, that was just psyops. Reversal. Say one thing, do the opposite.
Greatest liability, on the other hand...closer to their probable perspective.

The truth comes out in earnings calls. Don’t believe the bs they tell us. Greatest asset is our employees bs. This is not a family. Nobody cares about you besides blood and friends. Maybe you and your workgroup are tight but they will sacrifice you to save themselves.

The OP's statement is completely true, if you are dead wood. You will be cut as appropriate, and the tree has long needed a good trimming. However, if you excel in your area and function and provide exceptional value to your position then you have nothing to worry about.

I thought Mike Worth said our greatest asset were our employees. I guess he was just talking about the women.

That’s why many people buy Chevron stock. The companies’ commitment to its shareholders is very strong. If you plan on working here long term you need to understand that. If you can’t beat them join them,
