Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Weasel Words

AT&T management says it is “recalibrating.” Their statements to analysts and the media are filled with weasel words like that. Spending cuts are called “efficiency transformation.” Layoffs are called “headcount rationalization.” A doubling of prices for AT&T TV Now after a year is called “the prevailing rate.”

Good read or bad if you own T stock or still work there.

Nothing new - we were playing Bull Pucky Bingo during meetings back in the early 90s with all of the snazzy MBA buzzwords.

Those big words mean nothing while the customers are not buying their BS. They can cut all the labor and expense, it won’t prevent loosing thousands of customers quarter after quarter. Arrogant management and bean counters won’t and can’t produce growth, say hello to the new normal.

I love the corporate speak, first class corporate lingo, nice! Look the coming recession/depression is going to be severe, and T is going to use this initially for major cuts.. probably by end of Q3 , Q2 is still going ot be chaotic with the transition to the new CEO ... but by Q3 they'll have the axes out.. big time..
