Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

We are requesting customers to be smart

No one is making 'loyal customers' bad or anything of the sort. Lowe's employees are just requesting customers to visit stores only for ESSENTIAL products. Please postpone all other projects, the same way doctors/hospitals are asking people to postpone non-urgent hospital visits and elective surgeries! It's all about stopping/slowing down the transmission of the virus. Lowe's stores are very crowded and are hence are not following the recommended social distancing procedures. You don't have to wait for your state to issue "shelter-in-place" orders; it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to observe social guidelines. Either you or the people you interacted with at the store, have the virus- you will, in turn, infect many other people in your family, including the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions.
We are just requesting customers to be smart and to only come INTO the stores if they absolutely have to. I'm a homeowner as well and there are some projects that I wish I could do, but I have chosen to wait a little bit longer because of the ongoing crisis.
If we ignore all the directives, guess what will happen? All the innocent employees will be infected, and they will have to take MANDATORY quarantines, and the store will have to CLOSE. It's that simple. And a very likely possibility for many stores if the current trends and attitudes don't change. Thank you to all loyal customers and loyal employees. Let's all observe the social distancing guidelines to mitigate the spread of COVID-19!

Perfectly said, @ity+147O8b6a.

It's about what is life sustaining and what isn't. But if you're not just voluntarily tuning into Jim Cramer but parroting what that clown says like it's worth uttering then you're probably too thick to understand any of this in the first place.

Marvin said on Jim Cramer that 2/3 of everything that Lowe’s sells is deemed essential to build and maintain a home. I agree with him.

Go on the FSA community in Connections. If you do some searching you will find a PDF with instructions on how to reprogram the call buttons.

For bonus points make them all for a desk that no longer exists like electrical, plumbing or OPE.

Wouldn't it be nice if all stores were ordered immediately by corporate to turn off call buttons in all non-essential departments. It made me sick to my stomach today to listen to call buttons go off in paint, modular shelving, flooring, kitchen cabinets, etc. No way in hell should we have to drop what we're doing and go assist these id–ts who insist on ignoring the order of the Governor (Ohio here). The only call buttons that should be active are appliances, plumbing, electrical, and hardware/tools.

I’ll be going in to buy mini-blinds tomorrow. Will I be able to get them custom cut?

Our stores are open to the general public. The same general public that was happily buying Corona beer a month ago but won't drink it if you paid them to.

They're mo–ns who are not going to take this seriously until it affects them directly, which thanks to asymptomatic case and a long incubation period means that a bunch of them are going to die, and not just a few us will be condemned to do the same.

Thanks Marvin and Joe.

The reason is, essential is nit explained.

Most people are project shopping because they said "when I get time", and now since they aren't or can't work, the "have time".

Government needs to spell out to stay home and not go to Lowe's or Walmart because their greedy CEO's won't protect their employees.

In Washington state where I live near Seattle they did issue a stay at home order and people really don’t care, it’s not going to matter and most people are buying sh– like mulch, paint etc...people out and about like it’s nothing because they know it won’t be enforced, bunch of selfish dipshits, put your f—ing home projects on hold for a few weeks unless it’s an emergency situation like a water heater

At my store no one is following the recommendation to shop for essentials; we’ve been out of them for weeks. Instead they are shopping for projects and getting angry when there is no one to help them; we have over 30 associates out on the two week paid leave, many of them full time associates, there are even a few managers out.

Online orders are way up and people are sitting their cars in the parking lot, ordering, then immediately coming into the store to pick up their order only to find that it isn’t ready because it hasn’t even been picked. This leads to loitering about the customer service desk and anger because it’s taking a while to pull the order.

Management and corporate just see dollar signs. It’s all greed from the customers and Lowe’s.

Customers who respect the guidelines and respect us get the best customer service. Those who don’t are ignored and harassed until they leave. Our lives are in their hands. Because God knows the company is not doing anything to protect us.
