I work in Southfield Michigan in the dispatch center. 3 people here in the A building have tested positive for covid and instead of them telling us, they did a “deep clean” which consisted of them wiping down a few desks with Clorox wipes and told our management bau. We had to find out through word of mouth, and nobody has even recommended that we self quarantine. So now I’m sure there are some people infected that don’t know yet and we’re risking infecting our families every night when we go home. All because they care more about the bottom line than us! We should be closed down or at least set up to work from home. Good job caring for your employees AT&T!

I definitely feel you you all as well. The truth of the matter is that as long as we are all forced to work around other people, field or call center, we are all putting people at risk and being put at risk. Obviously if 3 people in my center still have the virus, Clorox wipes aren’t the answer. The only viable answer is for us to ALL be able to stay home and out of harms way. None of us are safer than another and the company needs to acknowledge that.
You work in the dispatch center? How about the guys being DISPATCHED?? They’re the ones that have the highest chance of catching and spreading COVID-19, not only their coworkers and families, but to the CUSTOMERS as well!! How is it ok for anyone to be going inside homes at a time like this. EVERY DAY these techs have to wake up not knowing if this will be the day they catch the virus by walking into an infected household. People can go 14 days without showing symptoms so it’s impossible to prescreen if someone inside actually has the virus or not. At least at the dispatch center you guys have wipes. Techs in the field would be lucky to have PPE.
Maybe Cuz No one cares?, the way it goes in USA "if it does not affect you personally, the problem doesn't exist"... Everyone will get their turn, it is not matter of hope, but time

When the Swine flu was going around, a few techs by me caught it.
Company told the foreman that if one mentioned they were sick, they either had to take a sick day or come to work-no vacation or unpaid time.
This was of course to try to discipline folks to termination.
That "policy" stayed in affect til I retired.
The company will do the same thing here.
They don't care. You mean nothing to corporate. Zip.
Why people can't grasp that is beyond me.
