I can’t wrap my head around it. Why can’t we work from home? So many companies are allowing their workers to do this. What is the harm???

They will have to pay you - they are saving money right now.
It is impossible with our current state of IT. Can’t even get product support on the phone when the customer is standing right in front of you, and it takes them two months to address tickets that you do submit.
I’ve worked from home.It’s very simple all it took was a laptop that was passed on from manager to manager. IT set up the VPN and I could work from home after I went home or on my days off. The laptop is still in use. Just depends upon who you know and how big your store is.
Perfect opportunity to make wrongs rightfor the less productive...no hr

You’re wrong. It’s not literally impossible and It’s not a huge undertaking. We simply need VPN access. Like every other company has.
I'm not sure what you do, but I know for SMs, it's literally impossible because everything is tied to the network which you can only access from within the store. My RM said there's pretty much no plans to ever make working from home a possibility because it'd be such a huge undertaking.
Now, why we're being forced to work and our health (and the health of our families and customers) put in jeopardy is another question. Apparently hoodies and car decals are essential goods.
