Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

No retail action plan

All other cellular companies are cutting back and closing stores , not greedy att . Normal hours with no action plan to protect its employees . Our store maintains 20+ people in store from open to close .

We’re out of cleaning supplies , no store in town has any Corp told managers to reach out to other stores ...ok ... that stupid they are going to be short as well.

Att sent out more emails stating they are doing this and that in reality nothing has changed , they closed the lowest performing stores to only push more customer into other stores causing more contact increasing the chances of spreading the virus , why do we continue to allow these id–ts to ruin our company and put us all at risk .

If your manager is threatening you for being off ill and asking for doctor’s note, please be sure to inform HR of this.

Att continues to be above the government while ignoring the cdc recommend policies for customer interactions.

Yes they are closing some stores and changing hours , it’s not enough !!

That bogus press release for employees to work at home . Yeah right 1-5% of the work force. #fakenews

Att is running bau putting everyone and the community’s they live in at risk to make money.

It’s not about shutting down the company it’s about following cdc and protecting the spread of the virus . Att isn’t doing anything to prevent that from happening

Call centers - open with no restriction , yes hundred of employees in the same area . Oh the kicker att has block vacation for them keeping them at work !!

Retail -free for all no restriction , no time off , most stores are out of cleaning supplies . 10 person recommendation ignored , managers disgusted with upper management they don’t even show up to help clean stores they’ll roll in around 10

Techs - no restriction or protection . Good luck

Ihx - no restriction or protection . Good luck

I am sure AT&T had legal involved, and they figured that the numbers of employees that may contract the coronavirus and die are relatively low compared to the amount of money they stand to lose closing all the stores down. It’s cheaper to settle lawsuits then cease operations of all Corp retail stores. God forbid anyone of us was to die; we would be replaced the same day.

Those that dont want to work should be able to take unpaid leave without penalty. Otherwise there are alot of non people interacting jobs out there. It's a freaking job people. Where were u 10 years ago when 60 million Americans got H1N1

I put in my resignation today over this. My wife has cancer and is undergoing chemo and they said I can’t use the 80 hours off because family wasn’t covered. I could probably use FMLA but I would rather leave this heartless company.

Close the stores, then when the paychecks stop, and we get to complain about something else.

This really proves how the company feels about employees in a time like this. We are literally thought of as expendable. I would love to know the stats that the higher ups have figured out with employee deaths ratio vs employees who get it and get better. You know for a company to hold out this long, they have a perfectly acceptable number of employee deaths that they are comfortable with. One can only hope some of these higher echelons gets the virus or pancreatic cancer.

F— AT&T. I hope they get sued after recklessly continuing to keep stores open against the advice of everyone who’s knowledgeable of the virus.

Att is stalling in hopes that this passes. This is a deliberate move. We get on calls for leadership to literally read us emails that were sent out to the masses. No answers to specific questions. This is not a mobility thing, it’s across the company. All call centers still open, every operation still going at 100%. This is how much they care about us. They lie to the media and employees. There’s a special place in hell for our leadership.

2 manager calls later it’s bau , they are justifying staying open to sell internet which can be ordered online or over the phone , they aren’t protecting the community or the employees at this point .

These people that make all these dumb decisions need to be let go .

All the other company are taking action !!!

We have no cleaning supplies , no protection , it’s free for all in retail stores

“Trial not needing employees”....

Lol good one.....

Closing stores and suspending tech dispatches may be in the best interest at this time.

But what happens when the pandemic is still going in 3 weeks.... 3 months?

The people screaming to stop these services now are the same ones who will be standing in the unemployment line in May. Employees demanding they close the stores and stop tech roles say that because they get paid temporarily. What happens when you are no longer eligible for that pay? Do you decide to stay out of work because you are still concerned about your health?

What if the company figures out a crazy ingenious way for customers to order and set up their own TV service or insert a SIM card into a phone that was shipped to their house?(this is rhetorical and sarcastic)

At the same time the company gets to “protect their employees” they also get to trial not needing employees.

I wanna know this. How am I suppose to distance myself from the very same customers I am suppose to be selling to ? How am I suppose to demo our wonderful new TV product when I can't hand them the remote ? How am I suppose to gain their acceptance when I can barely see the expression on their face from across the store ? And are we suppose to limit the amount of customers in the store at one time ? Who is gonna stand up front all day and tell people they will have to wait or come back later when there are less than 10 customers in the store ? CLOSE THE STORES !!!!!!

They love those three letters. BAU. In mobility we’re told not to interface with people and in worst case, no more than 5 people at a cell site. If vendors aren’t on site, we’re told to leave.

AT&T doesn’t really care, it cares about the shareholders and PR perceptions.

Good luck out there.

It’s extremely hazardous that AT$T isn’t taking any action by closing its stores. This company is disgusting.
