Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Pennsylvania

So all essential stores and businesses are shut down for two weeks.
Store managers say we are essential because we sell hot water tanks.
Ok I get that.
But why is the store packed with customers like its 100 days week end?
COME ON marvin and company!
Come on you all cant seen what's wrong here!
Be a leader and prove yourselves.

When Home Depot across the parking lot closed their doors at 6 all the customers came over to Lowe’s. With the paint sale the line was out the door as the one lone paint associate tried to keep up. This went on for a solid 2 1/2 hours. So much for staying home to flatten the curve.

I work in a Covid hotspot. I’ve been purposely giving people terrible service, if I wait on them at all. I resent the fact that they’re coming in for nothing. No emergencies. I completely resent the company for not giving me anything to help myself. No cleaners no gloves no masks. No direction. Just get more credit. So I’m just going to keep giving terrible service until nobody comes in. I also go to receiving and hide in a little space, just avoid the infected customers and other associates. I’m also telling anybody I know that’s a shareholder to dump Lowes stock from their retirement as soon as possible.

Fyi covid is airborne for 3 hours and masks don't help because it can enter your eyes. Everything needs to close. I do believe that's coming soon. Grocery stores online only and curbside pickup. Spread the word!

We need an Italy shutdown - except for grocery and pharmacy, everything gets shuttered for two weeks. Anything less will just make this disease continue to grow exponentially. And older folks can't shop with us or orange if they're dead.

They can do whatever they damn well please. And right now money pleases them even though they KNOW some of the people giving them that money will get sick and die because they visited Lowe's. That tells you everything you need to know about Marvin and the board. They don't care about us OR their customers. They'd take life insurance policies out on us now if that was still legal for businesses to do.

mo–n customers are coming in shopping like nothing is going on. The environment is set up for mass infection due to communal contact. We are not doing nearly enough to clean and protect our associates.

F— them. If they shut down non essentials and my store pulls this then I'm out. I'm not going to get sick or hey others sick for the sake of a water heater. This job was barely worth it before nevermind being forced to come to work during a pandemic.

Yes they definitely need to restrict hours. The contractors are coming in first thing and grabbing everything they need sometimes in the afternoon if it’s an emergency. Once in a while you’ll get basic people that came in for something they can’t wait for. The rest are just farting around because they’re bored and they don’t know what else to do. Especially at night. It’s like a senior citizens festival. They just push carts around all day and don’t buy anything. Is it worth putting them at risk just because they can’t control themselves? Cut the hours Marvin. or at least cut hours and then have the rest of the hours as pick up only. Have some balls.

Agreed. Leadership cares as little about the customers as they do the employees. All these customers think it’s safe to come in. They don’t realize that the display they just touched, the product they just handled was also just toched and handled by somebody who was sneezing and coughing. We would clean it but we don’t have anything! We are not a hospital, but we don’t have to be an epicenter of disease. Help us!!

Lowe's should be prudent like other businesses. If they are truly open for essential items, then close sections that are not essential.

We were the last ones in the dining area of a Popeyes yesterday. They chained the doors shut and propped chairs against the exit bars.

We were allowed to finish, but the doors shut behind us. Take out only.

So, if a customer needs a water heater, yhey pull up, item brought to their vehicle, and off they go.

Can't let people walking around coughing and sneezing everywhere or in their hands, then they handle items.

Marvin said hid most valuable asset is the people. Time to prove it.
