I heard they are eliminating the meat wrapper position.

The company is moving towards automation just like any smart company is right now. The PUMA machines are going to take some cutting away, and when utilized properly with the auto wrapper, you can get a really good assembly line going. Junior meat cutter will become a trainee position for Senior meat cutter so that the company isn’t paying unskilled individuals at the same rate as a skilled individual. That being said, we still need wrappers for some items and associates to maintain the sales floor.

I believe their job title has change to meat cutter 1
