Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Experienced tire tech paid LESS then new hire with 0 experience

This sh– Is just wrong. I do 3x the work 3x as fast as any other tech in the shop. New kid gets hired at $16 an hour with ZERO experience! I've got 4 years experience ... how is that even right ? F— Sam's club

The place is f—ed up...it's a f—ing cult. Been in the meat department for over 20 years. Got a young punk been working with the company for less than two years (and is really a horrible meat cutter, but my team leader and manager don't have a clue because they don't know anything about meat), and this punk is making almost as much as me.

We had an associate quit because new hires were getting paid more than he was. He said he wanted to go test the waters at other jobs, worst came to worst he could be rehired back at Sam's making more money than he was.

Sadly enough he was 100% correct.

Welcome to the club, don’t forget about our across the board 2% raise, you work hard 2%, the others late all the time, call outs all the time, no pride, integrity or work ethic, and these people still get a raise, complete bull

With your attitude you sound like a winner to have in tires.

It's retail. It even happens to us managers. 14 years of experience and external hires get more pay and start with more vacation.

That’s awful, find something better. Heard census hires $20-30. Many jobs and it’s work a look for temp work while you seek employment elsewhere. Wishing you the best. They will either raise your rate when you have a new job and let them know about it or you can safely quit. Just start looking now...
