Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Micromanagement

Since when did we become a company that micromanages our every move. This workplace posting is so ridiculous it’s all about who can post the most bs. Look at Teddy he got 2 credits today! Sally caught someone at the door with a loaf of bread. Nick was seen picking up sh– paper off the floor, like really people come on. This company has went off the deep end.

The Sam's that I worked at in Tucson had power hungry leads that got off on threatening you if you didn't get customers to upgrade there membership. 9 times out of 10, the customer has already waited in line so long that by the time they reach the register, they cut you off in the middle of your upgrade speech because they are so exasperated and just want to get out of there.

Our is real bad. They have basically given TL manager's authority over hourly associates. We've had a lot over turnover because of these tin plated God's that called them selves team leads. My leads is as n overbearing b—h. Looking for someplace else that will appreciate my hard work.

No such thing as part time for slave labor! Micromanage is so bad that your told using the gun instead of scan isn’t allowed! Lifting more than needed is required. Working part timers 40 hours a week for 12.50 of physical labor. No wonder the kind workers look like homeless people. They are tired & drained from micromanaging managers. They make their money off membership upgrades and push the people who work for them to quit!
because they run them ragged. Just causes rebellion... and the staff shortage!

@OP+13nFjyNt... 100% true! Same thing with me when I left. It's so eye opening & refreshing. Actually encourages me to want to do more for my new company as opposed to the way we were treated at Sam's. You wouldn't know this if you have been stuck in the Sam's rut for 15-25 years. Whole new happy world our here.

Big Brother is always watching. What I don't like is that they can type up anything about anyone whether it is true or not. Do not comment on what I do unless you know my job 100%. I am a backroom associate and we have a ton of responsibilities of which you know nothing about so shut up already.

This place is horrible with micromanaging. When I finally left the company I was paranoid at my new job. Always worried I'd get in trouble about the smallest things. It took awhile for me to relax and finally realize that I own my work, and I do what I think it takes to get it done well. The paranoia is far behind me, and I'm moving up in my company. I love it!

it's because all the hourly supervisors/salaried managers at sam's/walmart are scumbags with literally nothing to do. Anyone in the store can do their job, even the door greeters. They obviously have too much time on their hands if they're able to micromanage people constantly. Unless someone is a new hire, supervisors/management has no business breathing down everyone's neck/looking over everyone's shoulder.
