Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

“The bottom line”

People are missing the point....

Ending DSD will increase profitability for retailers! When WM and Kroger see earnings reports, they see an opportunity for THEM to make more money! Ending DSD will increase margins for retailers, increasing their profit margin! They don’t care how much money Mondelez makes, or how much their stock trades at, they care about how much money they make and where their stock is!!! Not too hard to understand!
The expense of DSD is also decreased Mondelez profitability, it’s a very expensive model to operate and they have done all they can to control costs, short of going warehouse....it’s coming!

“We’re” means nothing! Does it read “Mondelez” on the marquee outside any one of your accounts? Not mine! “We” can be committed to anything “we” want, it ain’t our choice, but “we” know what the retailers want, and that’s NOT DSD! That’s why “we” have consolidated warehouses into DC’s across the country and why “we” are working with retailers to institute CAO and EDI!
Nice try!

We're committed to dsd! Barclay's just did a evaluation on how sales have increased since Keebler exited in 2017. Look's like the future's bright for Mondelez! No layoffs peeps!!

I’ve been here 20 years and never heard a negative town hall, all there are plenty of times it would have been appropriate!
Heard all was good even just before the last mass lay-off! They care about one thing, and it ain’t employees! Just an FYI!

Hey DC, what else would be expected from a town hall? 🤣 Most people are passed the B$, time for a new mantra!

Seems like your experience is VERY DIFFERENT than most others that work here. Most of my peers vent about working here. If you like it so much you have to post about it, I'd say you are in the minority. FYI, venting about shortcomings from an employer IS NOT complaining, it's venting. Complaining is venting without reason. There's plenty of reasons to vent these days. You must have worked some hideous jobs to think this is great working here. Very sorry for you...

The job isn't bad it's just the bull $hit this company puts people through!! Lackluster merchandising! Upper management lies and they're lazy!! No accountability!! Poor planning from the customer teams!! Set up for failure! They worry about taking damn pictures instead of selling anymore. Computer ordering!! Our jobs are being eliminated right in front of our faces

If people think this job is miserable than they obviously haven't worked anywhere else. This is by far the most enjoyable job I've had in the industry. Seems like people just like to complain.

Anyone who did already quit, made a perfectly rationale decision! Looking at the reviews on indeed and Glassdoor, not a great place to work.....anymore! I know our team is a revolving door, and the only people that are still here, are here cause they don’t have a college degree, no other experience, and been here a long time. Believe me you, they are miserable as all get out! When your DM has a holiday team outing and nobody goes...pretty telling! The ones that left were smart, not irrational! They will go nowhere! No future! Nothing to justify!

I wonder how many people here, no longer actually work for the company because they made an irrational and emotionally driven choice to quit years ago and come here in Hope's to justify their choice?

  • and when DSD ends management can say,” it wasn’t their choice”! Watch and see!

Profits over people!

Why do you think he said that? Cause “the bottom line” is, it doesn’t matter what drove our business! Once again an attempt to make people understand the length they are willing to go to, to conceal the reality that Mondelez is going warehouse!
I repeat, “the bottom line is”, it’s not about Mondelez and their success it’s about the retailers, and their success! Success in retail is measured in profitability! And for investors that is measured by ROI!
DSD is done, and the only conspiracy theory is that of management trying to keep you in the dark.....just a little longer! You’ll see!

The biscuit success In the United States was driven by improved execution on marketing and at point of sale. Also in the U.S. biscuit business, Mondelez drove “both value and volume growth through D.S.D.,” Mr. Zaramella said.
Sounds like we're still committed to DSD!!
Stop with your conspiracy theories!!

Yep, and of WM goes warehouse, so do we. They have 25% of our business in the US! It’s coming, regardless of any earning reports! That’s about us, warehouse is about them!

Wal Mart and Kroger will definitely go warehouse. It is not up to Mondelez. The stores can make their
Own decisions
