Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Just posted: reducing the number of Verizon stores that remain open

Just posted online by Verizon...

As part of our next phase, we are reducing the number of Verizon stores that remain open. However, our customers can still get the support and services they need 24/7 by visiting verizonwireless.com/support/, calling 800.922.0204 or using the MyVerizon app.

Verizon logic......you people go to work and hope to not get sick and/or bring it home to your family......you people get to stay home and get paid........hmmmmmm seems fair to me!!!

Kind of like how my call-center is telling the “nonessential” to work from home and be safe but then the peons that take calls and their supervisors have to go in and not be safe? And we can use PTO if our kids schools and daycares are closed (which several districts schools are closed).

It’s high case areas. So places like Seattle, nyc...etc. don’t get too excited

Pretty sure it’s not real. No one sees any locations closed.

Wonder what exactly warrants the consideration of their employees health? Some stores will be closed... what are the guidelines, which stores and why? This virus is everywhere. What, we've tested 20k people in this entire country? The same Korea is doing every other day? Apparently some employees will actually have to wait until they are infected until they get to stay home? Then they risk death, are seperated from their families for 14 days who knows where? Then they'll close that store... oops sorry.

  • Update: Effective March 14: As noted in a letter from Hans Vestberg, in order to help flatten the curve of the pandemic, Verizon will be temporarily closing a number of its stores across the country in order to expand its work from home policy to include some of its retail employees. Our teams are able to serve customers 24/7 by visiting verizonwireless.com/support/, calling 800.922.0204 or through the MyVerizon app.
