I work in a store in Georgia. More then 1200 people have came through the doors in the last 3 days. We got a phone call from a lady who has tested positive and was in our store 2 days before she was tested. Very little is being done to clean the store. Last week we were given lysol, lysol wipes and hand sanitizer. The carts are not being wiped down the front door is only being cleaned maybe twice a day. We are out of hand sanitizer and was informed more would be in Tuesday (today is Sunday). People are shopping like nothing is wrong buying clothes and coffee mugs. They are out with their family's and since school is out groups of high school and college students are coming in because of boredom not necessity. If we must stay open we need to go to same day pick up only. That would limit contact for the public and our employees . Bass pro is just being irresponsible and are part of the problem at this point. A money and greed fueled company. We all know Johnny is not running a cash register with people less then 2 feet away from him, touching money with no hand sanitizer there to clean his hands. I am ashamed of this company and hurt by the lack of concern for it's employees. Shame on you Johnny Morris may God have mercy on your soul.

Have been told he’s keeping the doors open for people second amendment rights. It is not a essential store and I think people should start boycotting his business. Privately owned so the news media is being turned away, governors office has been contacted numerous times. No one should keep him in business after this. Close your stores and take a hit Not your employees fault that greed is more important than the ones who work for you during this time. I hope you suffer from your ignorance and selfish ways. Cabela’s was a big bad mistake you made. Now your trying to make up for your stupid business decision!
I work at a Cabelas DC and there is really nothing being done to help prevent it. Slightly increased cleaning, but we still have department meetings every day (15 people all clumped together), they say if you have the flu don’t come to work but aren’t offering any extra paid time off so people are forced to come in sick to get a check. On top of all that we’ve been busier than ever so we’re working 15 hour days, with no looks of shutting down anytime soon. It’s only a matter of days until someone in the warehouse has it and then we all do. They don’t care
if corporate office is allowing work from home why are stores still open? in my store over 60 percent of employees are over 60. not sure if money is more important than employee safety to Johnny Morris or what (sarcasm). we should be closed, management simply does not care, the almighty dollar is more important. if someone does get I'll in my store hope they due the heck out of the company.
This is rediculous we have multiple confirmed cases in our area Bibb, Houston, Peach, Baldwin, Lauren's, and many more counties and because theres still id–ts wanting to buy a gun and amo to shoot ppl in this chaos Bass pro is staying open..we had a customer test positive this past week that was in the store for 2 and a 1/2 hours. and Macon Bass Pro insist on not closing the doors.. tho we are short staff and many pregnant and new mothers to new borns they still stay open!! what is wrong with this place!! Sad that they will be the ones to get to take credit for selling the murder weapons that I'm sure will shoot someone cause these id–ts out buying them arent buying for the right reason!!
Store hours to be reduced beginning Monday!
I work at a Cabela’s in Texas, we’re not taking ANY safety precautions, barely any hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes. Several people have quit and plenty more have decided to self quarantine. Does Johnny dumb–s Morris care? Of course not. There’s been 19 confirmed cases here, all but 4 have been from community spread. The fact that we’re still open is insane and it is a decision made purely out of greed.
Others are noticing this company's HORRIFIC response to this pandemic by not closing their stores and putting their employees at risk! Keep making your voices heard, they matter and so do the lives of many others. I come back to this page often and the response from other locations and what y'all are dealing with is SHOCKING! We deserve better and this company needs to be held responsible for the lack of safety for others. I wish for you and your loved ones all the best health! Stay safe!
Thousands of people from all over the country still flock to bass pro in Springfield mo.
Infected? Several proven cases yes.
Exposing associates? Obviously.
Those associates then spread this to even more? Of course. That’s how community spread works.
Does Johnny Morris care? Of course not. He’s making a mint selling guns and ammo. Is he in there helping? Hell no. He knows damn well how dangerous this is. He JUST DOESNT CARE.
He won’t close. Even if the govt tells him to, he’ll fight it. He doesn’t have the moral fortitude to do the right thing. God bless you to all his employees who can’t afford to tell him to go f— himself.
I have the utmost respect for those businesses that are on the essential list. I am assuming that those that do work at a super market, gas station, doctor's office, etc. are receiving supplies to help protect them (masks, hand sanitizer, wipes, bleach etc.) God bless them. But when you work for a company (classified by most as non essential) that is not abiding by simple hygiene practices, well then you have lost whatever respect (minuscule amount) that I had left. Associates (I refuse to use outfitter) are sneezing and coughing in their hands, when HR is told, they just roll their eyes and do NOTHING! More then 50 people in the store at one time. Hunting counter is disgusting. The line of people not keeping their distance blows my mind. Guns not being wiped down after handling, gross. (this should be done pandemic or not) OH and did I mention NO hand sanitzer!!! I feel horrible for the seniors that work here, and those of us who need that pay check because it would take us months to catch up from loosing one week of pay. I'm sorry I don't save my sick time or vacation time (all of which don't carry over) for a possible pandemic. (Although I might start considering this when planning my next vacation) "We will come out as the ones who stayed strong" HA, you are going to come out looking like someone who doesn't care about their associates, (you know the ones that have to break their a– every day to keep you accustomed to your wealthy lifestyle)! To all of those BPS/CABs that are still open...........wash your hands, it's our only defense.
NY Stores are closed probably by our governor you’ve got to do something about your stores not being closed no BP is essential. Call you governors call anyone!
"On Friday, March 6, the international travelers had breakfast at Hemingway’s and shopped at Bass Pro."

So New Jersey ordered non essential retail to close. They gave a very detailed list as to who can remain open. Bass pro does not fit any of the criteria. Yet, they are open tomorrow!
Bass pro is contributing to the spread. Bins with individual lures packaged in cardboard: customers dig through touching, another comes behind and does same. (One example) the next two weeks are crucial to flatten the curve.
BP is socially irresponsible, putting lives at risk for financial gaun
I work at one of the stores in the mid west and we are all very concerned with Bass Pro not closing. We have numerous employees that can't afford to just not come in because of the Coronavirus but at the same time they can't afford to get sick either. Because of the company not wanting to loose money! Really!! This company has plenty of money. No I don't know their numbers but i'm sure they do have plenty of money. So they close the Aquarium, the Wonders of the Wildlife museum is also closed but the store they are attached to is still open. We also have some employees that have chosen or been told by their own Dr's. not to go in to work. The Bass Pro/Cabelas stores are not essential stores and need to be forced to close to protect their employees and their customers.

I work at bass pro in South florida. We don’t have guns. We don’t carry sh– that’s “essential” most of our employees are at risk but scared of losing income. Even I’m risking my a–. Tourists will not stop coming. Someone had to bring in hand made sanitizer for us to use because the store isn’t providing any. This is greedy b—s— and I’m tired of it but no ones f—ing listening till someone in the company dies.
tracker boat center(bass pro / cabelas) in midwest has employee who is sick and awaiting covid test, employees and some of their family members with high risk, customers coming in not using safe practices, no 6' rule, employees eating lunch together, sharing candy, employees who are expressing their concerns to management and other employees are literally laughed at and are told we are over reacting. still will not shut down. best part is we only sell boats no camping gear, survival gear or guns and have ice on our lakes so no need for a boat!!! sheer ignorance and selfishness

All employees I urge you to expose this piece of sh–! Don’t fear for your jobs! Keep your health in mind. Johnny and his corporate employees are safe, while “we” as retail workers suffer and get exposed because of his American Greed.
BASS PRO Shop is putting employees at risk of coronavirus. Please use any connections you may have to get this message to the proper authorities and the news media. Bass Pro shops will be responsible for any employees who become infected, get sick. Lets hope that no one dies due to this company's decision to keep its doors open despite of the inevitable. Please pass this along. The President needs to know!
Everyone and anyone that works at the gun counter at one of these stores needs to expose Johnny Morris for what he is. A greedy non government complying douche. Capture all pictures and videos when you can. Send it to your local news, or government office if you can. He clearly wants this virus to spread and at the risk of his employees and customers.
Johnny is probably cruising the Bahamas in a yacht while fishing, laughing that he’s making money and knowing that his employees and customers are exposed. Probably has his own personal medical staff with the billions he has. What a sh–ty human. Your employees f—ing hate you, Johnny. Civil lawsuits are coming a–hole.
Johnny Morris is a greedy piece of sh–! I hope a lot of lawsuits follow and he gets punished for his lack of care for employee and customer health. This company says they’re doing what they can to clean and disinfect departments. That’s absolute b—s—! He’s a liar, a fraud, and a disgrace to the American people and his employees. I hope you get sued out of business you greedy f—ing schmuck!
So does anyone think Johnny Morris will spend any time in one of his stores tomorrow alongside the outfitters whose health he is putting at risk? Profit over people at its finest!!! Tracker is about America and family! I call b—s— on this! Basspro is about money not people!
My store continues to cut hours instead of closing down, leaving us with less income.
It seems BP/Cabela's will only shut down if your State forces them to.
Cuomo finally shut down our store. Contact your governors! It helps.
Utica N.Y store closed tonight
Everyone should sue them for putting our health at risk. Anybody can die from this virus
Here in Florida they are open also. Everything is shutting down but Basspro. They have to close, what can we do. Who can we call. Lawsuits for sure. This is ridiculous. Employees can die from this virus. Families better soon the hell out of Basspro for sure. Call Government, Mayor, News, even President, Vice President. Shame this company anything. We all need to stick together on this.

Bass pro NY Auburn location was telling customers on the phone that they where being deemed essential because of a VERY, And I mean VERY. F—ing small end cap that included 10 survival kits, 4 generators, and some Freeze Dried food. which some of this stuff was being returned because of lack of expiration dates. you can't make this stuff up.
If you have social media, PLEASE call them out! Twitter is now becoming more active in doing so and I even discovered that a co worker signed the petition posted on here! Let's make some noise!
Someone needs to upload a picture or video of the hordes of people at the gun counter and post it online. Tag basspro. They need to be publicly shamed.
They claimed we would have increased cleaning and sanitizing but all our house keeping crew does is empty trash cans. After getting complaints from customers about us not cleaning they rounded up the 3 half empty lysol cans we have in the store and told us to wipe everything down. Just like everyone else said our gun counter is slam packed with customers and sales are up so management seems to have no concern about the virus. The strip mall next door and the Sunglass Hut in our store are ghost towns but our parking lot is packed every day. Customers just wandering around the store having a good ole time, anything to stay out of the house.
Just saw that NY is shutting its bass pro's down for 2 weeks with paid leave
Bass Pro coorporate has been questioning so many decisions gm's are trying to make by shutting down the store. Our store's gm has been tirelessly trying to shut us down knowing that it is the best thing to. Today finally we closed our door. This was the second attempt. Earlier in the week we were shut down and had to reopen the next day due to cooporate telling us it was an unnecessary action. Biggest question will be if we stay shut closed or not.
Called the local news and they said they have had numerous complaints about the amount of people in the store. Called the Governors office. Told we are privately owned and nothing can be done to stop them.
CLOSE BASS PRO. Staying open puts customers and employees at risk!!
