I travel for work every now and then and there is such a difference between hotels with cable vs direct tv. Direct tv takes forever to fricken change a channel. It is no comparison. Good job randy and Stankey for wasting billions when you already had a product that you could of built streaming around and would of been a more natural progression.

@1fgz+13TOMcn3 Truth. - remember when they bought and hey did one satellite launch and then not long after that Stankey said no more satellite launches. Ok then the marginalization started. It is sad to see Stankey destroy so many people and technologies and get rewarded for it. He is an example of everything that is wrong with America. He does nothing but marginalize.
DirecTV was great until AT&T got its hands on it. The technology worked just fine, and there are reasons why it was the #1-rated TV provider in America. AT&T just had to mess with it because they are convinced they know better than everyone about everything. Once AT&T started stripping away resources from DirecTV because they decided satellite TV was stupid, the service went downhill. Paired with the fact that AT&T also k–led off DirecTV’s solid customer service, and of course subscribers started cancelling in droves.

Yeah I got friend who got dub in the fall and already said he is going back to cable when his contract is up. He cannot stand how long it takes to switch channels and how it goes out when it is raining.

1st. it looks like t-mobile has a replica of att tv now. Same exact concept but more expensive for that first year. Eventually att would endup charging more after the 2nd year. This is not about the customer this is about competition. 2nd. switching from u-verse to att tv now would mean losing a lot of the best channels

Three video platforms with no clear strategy!! It’s like a car stuck in reverse without a driver!!
Glad someone is having good experience on ATT TV now. I have the same Apple TV set up with 150mbps internet, getting the network is underperforming errors daily and at times hourly. Meanwhile YouTube and Amazon Prime Video plays smoothly and no issues. Even the PBS app plays fine. Going back to cable before my family disown me, thanks Stank.
I have att tv NOW on Apple TV. It is GREAT on Apple TV. I recommend it. It’s channel changing is very fast and overall service is better than my u-verse was. Best part , unlike u-verse tv, it doesn’t consume bandwidth when recording because it’s in the cloud. I now have much more of my bandwidth available for other things. I hate almost all our company product and services but NOW on Apple is a great experience. With the employee discount it’s only 10 bucks a month.
Hotel and large commercial installations use different equipment than a typical home setup. Some of it may certainly add delay to channel changes.
Look I loved Uverse but the trick to using DTV is using the guide versus flipping thru the channels, try that next time and it may not be so frustrating. AT&T TV (thats a mouthful) has pretty quick channel change, especially swiping in the app.
