Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Let's start from the top

Here's an idea - let's start cutting people based on who makes the most in a year. But wait for it, let's not limit it to low-level employees! Let's include all levels of management and leadership. All our cost-cutting problems will be solved with just a few hundred people gone. And it's not like those people did anything good for the company in the past several years, I highly doubt anybody - or the company - would miss them.

The managers slow march into the mist never to be employed by the phone company again as the pipe major directs the best piper to begin “Going Home”. The managers now regret their choice to leave early everyday to swill their pints and realize they should have stayed late as others did to accomplish the tasks.

And as the managers are led to the glen for the last time the slow march cadence will repeat as the pipes play “1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2 1,2

Not cut upper management but rather, take away all their responsibilities and leave them with just and office, a desk, and a chair. "Stay as long as you like. You're free to quit anytime." And when they do, adios to the parachute.

Interesting how somebody always have great idea of getting rid of executives even though they have never run anything. Besides there mouth. Lotsa talk. Just amazing how much things would be better if their mouth took over.

All the bigwigs have guaranteed golden parachutes, getting rid of them means big payout, much greater than worker bees. Not to mention, another round of music chairs to backfill and reorg is way too much work their HR partners in crime.

You can always tell when a HR person is on the call, they are very professional and carry the gleeful tones when dissenting lay-off notices and legalese. If you found such support helpful, please contact HR as suggested by McFresh. I’m sure they are glad to hear from you, not.

Let’s stay with the tried and true. Non essential Management first then go to true fat of the Company, the Craft in the oversized under worked job titles. That is this next volley of layoffs and rightfully so. Let the beheading begin. Don’t be shy, step up, it’s your turn to face the blade Craft. Management has been decimated, time to hit the Crews. I’d say good luck but with all the Craft sentiment posted, I hope you get tenfold what you wish on others. The Reaper waits for no one.

Although I could think of a few area managers that are not area managers any more because they were awful that should be gone.

Sound good get rid of every director on up. I would even think about coming back to help rebuild the company.
