And just for the record, Bakers & Cake Decorators are 2 different positions. Bakers do bake breads that are frozen, although it's a bit more detailed than just throw it in the oven ! LOL However, cake decorators DO make plenty of things that, although not "from scratch", are very detailed & time consuming to make! It's time consuming for someone who is experienced & familiar with doing it!! For someone who's not....it would be a very long process & probably not done to spec!! Point being...it's not as easy as it looks!🙄 Besides the cakes, there are Gourmet Cupcakes (very detailed), Gourmet Brownies, Strawberry cakes, berry topped cheesecakes, scoop cakes, etc. So yeah...not just anyone can walk in & do it & get it right...I've seen plenty try !😉
Our bakers don't really bake. Same way our maintenance custodian doesn't really do maintenance work. Or the door greeters or desk associates aren't really member support because their real job is Walmart's money. The names may be misleading, but believe me, if you don't have one that knows what they are doing, monies won't be incoming for long.
What exactly are you baking. Your cakes and cupcakes are already baked, everything else is already made it just has to be thawed and put in the oven and most likely everything has a certain time it has to be baked. It’s not like the bakery is making anything from scratch.
I was the main baker for 12 years, there was one other lady who baked when I was off or on vacation. There was a few others that sorta knew how to bake,but messed some of the bake up or never baked enough. you really can't have more than 1 head baker the specks need to be the same day to day so to many "Bakers" in the kitchen !! is not a good thing ,you start getting complaints from members about the look of the product. Then the big bosses come in and b–ch about the same thing.
