Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Has anyone noticed that Corp keeps coming out with weekly announcements?

I’m not talking about the portal notes.
In the last several weeks we had:
A new CMO/ president
Layoffs
Billion dollar plan
Sold off Pmall
Announced poor earnings before the qtr ended
Announced the sale lease back transaction

Seems that almost every week there is something.
My bet is they will continue this until the April Earnings call and release. THEN during that call they will announce they are going to mass close stores! How many do we think?? What’s the next big news break?!

And what plan might that be? Almost a year since we shed the disasterous old leadership, and the decline hasn’t stopped. On the contrary, it’s continued unabated because THERE IS NO PLAN! Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Relax people. Get yourself under control freaks. BBBY has a plan in place to survive and you should ride it out. All brick and mortar is under the gun so no need to try and find another.

I dedicated 8 and a half years taking my department to number 1 in the company from 380. Was let go for doing a direct ship. You satisfy the customer but not management. I dont recommend anybody purchasing from bbb anymore when closer stores offer similar items for less and they take bbb coupons

This is off topic I know but I s— at this so here goes...I have devoted 12 years of my life to this company. Waited 7 years just to get full time...why??? Cuz I loved the ideals and standards of where I worked...fast forward to now...we blow past customers...don’t care about what they want and the idea of being a merchant...which used to be a mainstay of our existence as a company is gone...so my question however odd...what is going to happen to us non key holding regular full time hourly workers that have dedicated our lives to our job???

The coronavirus isn't helping this company making thing any better. I heard they are redoing my former windows dept again. Getting smaller, less stock to sell. Went from 220 pages of stock to order to 67. Of which I could only order from 32. My friend said it is going down to 42 pages. No stock, no sales!

This company is not going to be here in a few years. If you stay then quit crying!

Your renovation may have been canceled , But our store has just been added ! It all boils down to which stores are profitable.

I have two things-

1- some of us stay because the job market in our area is not running with open, well paying jobs.
2- you are not a target if you make more than $15 an hour. The only store target is the ASMs- DS are here to stay and will make anywhere from 15-23 an hour, but given they don’t work overtime they only make at most 45 a year, which is not significant to the company for their output.
3- what locations had their Reno canceled? I’m curious to see if ours will be too.
4- if you no longer work at bbb and are telling people to leave, just stop. They live the life agmfter you left so we know how much it s—s, we have a lot on our plates. BUT, we deal with it because it’s hard to find retail management jobs!

IF you have left or been let go... Why are you still hanging around these boards? You don't need to be here posting to watch the "train wreck"

Take your own advise and LET GO - MOVE ON. Be happy in your new positions/jobs forget about the ones who choose to stay, they are not heading your advice anyway. They are going to get what they deserve, right? You look bitter and angry, people get laid off all the time (even people with years and years into a company) it's the way it is.

Anybody staying with BBBY now are nothing more than useful id–ts. You will told whatever it takes to keep your hopes up then let go without a single compassionate thought. The people left in HR are only there to coddle then fire you when the time comes; nothing more, nothing less. This is the reality of the new Bed Bath & Beyond.

The retail market for jobs is somewhat hard right now. More store closings, layoffs, and now the coronavirus making it more difficult. People are not shopping as much as before, except online. I've bee out now over 8 months, unemployment ran out, going through savings. Just ride it out as best as you can.

Why would any of you guys hang around for this
Train wreck is beyond a reasonable thought process and complain?
Again if your full time and make over $15.00 per hour they will get you!! Your days are numbered.
Quit complaining and do something to help yourself like find another job!
