Can someone tell me UHC policy on if you are placed on a CAP and voluntarily resign, are you eligible for rehire?

That letter means nothing. Your best course of action to get UHC to take you serious is to call or send an email to the head of your org. Let them know that you have enough to sue and cannot accept the negligent way HR and your chain of command has conducted their investigation. If you want anyone in this company to take you seriously you have to act serious. They don’t need any negative press right now. Take the gloves off and good luck!

It’s pointless to try and argue with HR that your manager is inaccurate on filing the CAP. Even IF the company could be sued for federal violation... they send you this “nice” letter to sign that states you agree to resolve the situation “in-house” and meanwhile they (UHG) does nothing.

I’m not sure. It’s weird, People are being let go and some are getting a bonus. Heck some are even getting promoted!

Resistance is futile.....I agree, if you’re on a CAP, been put on a CAP, or threatened to be placed on a CAP you’re done. Resistance is futile.

To get a cap you have to have been doing wrong for awhile.
They warn you via scorecards before they even put you on one.
The few I know that had them knew well before a cap was even mentioned.
They didn’t care and didn’t think anything would happen.

I had a CAP and survived 2 years after. Even had an interview for an internal position but since it was a lateral move, I declined the position. I did apply for a lot of jobs and kept getting rejected but I noticed on The Hub that its fairly difficult to move anywhere even if you have never had a CAP. I recently resigned after finding a higher paying position with less stress and less risk of a layoff

Valid point. I’ve known several people who were put in CAPs over the years. How it effects your future also depends on how you respond to the CAP. If you complete the CAP with a positive attitude and show your manager that you take it seriously it may not seal your fate. If you fight it you’re days are numbered. You definitely won’t ever be able to advance. That’s just what I’ve observed. Good luck though!

I'll be your light in the tunnel. I had my first CAP after 18 yrs of service. It was a CAP for communication for presenting to a ridiculous director. Mydirect told me to just " get through it with her" and do some learnsources etc. I'm still here and it's never affected me.

If you go on a CAP it's the first step to managing you out of the company. Basically they're getting ready to lay you off and deem you not worth a severance.

Every large corporation works the same PIP or CAP you get one of those you are on death row. Nobody survives that scarlet letter. It just a nice way to say next layoff round your name is on it. All part of the popularity contest and you are not part of the cool kids group. Layoff leaves same mark until management changes not eligible for rehire. Who would want to be part of something anyway when not wanted.

If you get off a CAP, is it still on your record and will managers still not want you?

Quitting while on a CAP or even if your manager informs you that you are under consideration of a CAP will go in your permanent record and you will be considered Ineligible for rehire and no manager is going to consider someone who has that in their permanent record.

I can’t say it would increase your odds of being laid off but you can kiss any chance of advancement goodbye. IDRs are a complete joke as they are handed over to your senior leadership to investigate and respond back to HR. Senior leaders will always side with your manager and we’re probably involved with the decision to put you on the CAP in the first place. Their response will be “no merit has been found to substantiate your dispute” blah blah blah. Even if you complete the CAP you’re always one step away from another CAP. You’re best option is to quit as soon as you can for your own mental health. Fighting UHC is futile, personally exhausting and will rob you of the love of your job.

Best option is to quit, otherwise it's a permanent mark against you and you're essentially blackballed.

If you are on a correction action plan, you can either contact HR to explain the process if you want to contest it or the hub has information if you look up internal dispute resolution and arbitration. You typically have 10 days to dispute the CAP after being put on one. Not sure if that's the information you were looking for.
