Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

I'm ready to volunteer to be laid off

What is the point of hoping to keep a job that has reduced my quality of life to the point where I barely eat and sleep anymore? I now firmly believe that even unemployment is better than this. My mental state can hardly get any worse and at least I'd get to spend some quality time with my family while I look for a new job.

What did Yoda say? "Do or do not. There is no try." If you're not doing it, you're not ready (or willing) to do it. I left UHC M&R in 2012 (ages ago). They changed my job description to needing a grad degree. Not my teammates job descriptions, just mine. UHG has been corrupt for a long, long time. I wasn't ready, but, that changed quickly. For the better, all for the better.

I left on my own 7 months ago, best career decision I’ve ever made. Leaving while you already have a position allows a thoughtful and empowering job search. I had been a telecommuter, so I did have to make the decision to return to the office. But again, turns out I needed that too, as WFH, doesn’t always produce the best collaboration and work environment. The competition wants UHC employees because we’re hard workers with an outstanding work ethic. You do have value, just not at UHC. I know that’s hard to hear, but it’s true. Your Immediate leadership may value you, but to Senior Leadership , you’re just a number. Take control of your career and leave.
