We have 3 hard working ASMs. They are scheduled 50 hours per week and are partnered with an DS for most openings and all closings. The SM opens and works days almost exclusively. With the new DS app and reduced MOD app I can see the prep-work to eliminating any need for ASMs. Good luck to the underpaid DSs who will need to run the stores with cut hours and part timers!

Good, they need to go. Most worthless, useless and undeserving positions in the store. Waste of payroll.

All I can say is WOW, I can surely agree with most of these comment's already posted. I retired from the company in 12/2018 after 13 year's, I couldn't believe all of the change's that I saw in that time. At my last store (which I hated), I really never actually fit in/felt like I was actually a part of that store. I had been trained the correct/proper way to do everything. When I arrived at my last store I quickly realized there was so much politicking going on I couldn't I couldn't stand it, but I knew I'd be retiring in the not too distant future, and out of fairness to my wife I decided to put up with all the c-ap that went on there as long as I could. For me anyway what put the final nail in the coffin so to speak was when a coworker in my own dept. left me a threating message on my personal phone. The only reason that he had my # in the first place was because he supposedly could get me some tickets to a sporting event I was wanting to go to and the tickets were hard to come by. At least at the time that happened the asm I informed about the incident was one that actually cared about associates, he told me to call the local police dept. and tell them about the message. They took it seriously and sent two officer's to investigate the matter, they questioned my coworker about it, he admitted doing it, but he said he said he didn't personally leave the message himself. The bottom line was all management did was slap him on the wrist a little bit and tell him if he ever did something like that again that he'd be terminated. I knew eventually he would do something stupid enough to get fired so I decided to just wait and see how long it took. He ended up being very rude to one of our regular/best customer's and that's when he was terminated..he was a stupid to begin with, he never actually did much work because he felt like he should have received a promotion and been offered the position I was hired in on, because I basically had held that same position my entire time with the company.

ASM's . Hmm? Some very good, most very bad and unethical. Most are children handed power, and they sure do abuse it!

But listen, Lowe's is headed towards having all managers in the stores, with as minimal employees they can to do the job. Its already started, they just havent come out and said it!

Every store will have 4 ASM's, each dept a manager, then as short staffed store as possible. Managers will use employees as they sit fit, anywhere in the store.

Its happening in USA already. And wait til the abysmal spring hiring! NO ONE is coming out, NO ONE can pass d–g tests, and NO ONE wants to work for Lowe's. If they do, they immediately bail in the 1st 2 weeks.

Its all over. Even managers are feeling drained from the unrealistic expectations.

I call BS on this. In his Las Vegas on stage remarks Small hands Joe indicated that they were adding ASM's and department supervisors. So unless they are firing the lazy ones and hiring ones that hopefully won't hide out in offices I don't see this as happening.

Now our new store manager may need to go. He works 6 to 4 M-F. The first time, in 6 months, that I saw him was at the all store meeting. At least I think it was him, he talked the whole time and other people seemed to regard him as the store manager.

We still have them at my store ... but they all work 35 hours a week and enjoy their huge bonuses and free stock they get handed to them cause of all of us working our butts off! Otherwise seems like they were cut years ago my my store! Zero help at all and never having to close the store or handle any customer complaints!
