Why doesn't CVS do per Diem employees? None of us have enough hours to hire anyone extra and give them more then 5 hours a week. We basically just need people to come when they call off. Why not create per Diem positions? Especially for employees who leave and just want to stay on 1-2 times per week. They could utilize the app for myschedule and allow the PRN employees to sign up for the month. Any thoughts?

From my understanding CVS counts PRN employees the same as regular employees for their metrics in corporate, the only company I have heard that does this, so by adding PRN employees, this reduces the amount of PT and FT employees you can have. Horrible way to do business in my view, but that is their system of operations and CVS does not have a motto of caring for patients or employees, only the metrics that provides the best compensation for them.
Well if you are PT, you can pickup hours anywhere. Honestly if you are willing to drive even as a PT, you can get 40 hrs
