Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

For health's sake.

Here's something most don't talk about. Today I went to doctor after lab tests. The usual. The doc came into the room and said he was recently thinking about me because a SF employees relative is going to med school and he had the opportunity to talk with the SF employee. Conversation was NOT good for SF. He asked me what the heck is going on over there. I refused to discuss saying "It's NOT a healthy work environment!"

He reviewed my labs and said: "It's amazing how you have turned around your health since you retired!" I told him....I rest my case. I just hope others make it out of there alive with the focus on metrics and production.

State Farm unfortunately is a silent k–ler to anyone in agency or operations. Don't let them take your health. Money can't buy health nor quality time. Don't let anyone at any level sell you otherwise. They do not own you. Do not let them own you.

I’m appalled by the comments that simply say “just find a job somewhere else then”. Personally I had been so beaten down by this company that I could barely sleep due to severe anxiety and depression, and when are you supposed to go on interviews when this place has you on lockdown like they own your a– when you work for them? This company also has this unique ability to make you feel like you’re absolutely worthless as an employee and human being. That is not the best condition to be in when you need the strength and confidence to sell yourself. I literally almost ended it all because of this terrible company when everything seemed so hopeless. As soon as you are able, get far far away from this nasty place and never look back!

my BP was high normal while working there, and now it is 102/70, even tho I'm eating less salads and working out less. It definitely was a slow silent k–ler.

And they wonder why turnover is out of control. Intelligence is no longer considered valuable.

Amazing! It's all about me. Yeah right! Without those customers, you'll find out real quick a good lesson. The word is getting out. Time value of money. Get prepared.

Quit your complaining. If it’s sooo bad for you, then leave the company.

Lifeworks is a joke. The therapists (and I use that word loosely) are incomptent, ineffective therapist wannabes. I know, I went through three, each worse than the last. Not helpful at all and ends up causing you more stress and anxiety. Use at your own risk!

A company can live or die by it's reputation. State Farm's is on the decline...

"Please leave and find a new job if you are this sick...." Can you believe that? The hypocrisy at the Farm is sickening. The company was once a company who cared about its employee well being. It showed because the employees understood the fiduciary duty they had to the customer and the company. It's all about me, take care of yourself, and it's a business decision has rotted its core values. Once a company loses its core values, mission and vision, it will eventually fail no matter how much money they have in the bank because both the internal and external customers will longer support it. Just a matter of time.

I’ve had two of those attacks as well and in ER twice. 10,000 each visit. Waste. And we pay huge deductible. Unreal waste. Insurance stinks

The stress is REAL. I ended up in the ER after my shift thinking I was having a heart attack. Had all the typical symptoms. After numerous expensive tests and an overnight stay, it turned out to be an anxiety attack. I'm still paying off what the insurance didn't cover!!!

Complete BS that you call BS....obviously sheltered from claims. How do you explain employees being taken out on stretchers... it’s become routine. I can’t speak for all, but the ones I’ve known are due to anxiety. Then, when you come back after a “protected” leave, you’re punished in a way you’ve never been before you got sick. Management will say you’re “protected”, but you’re really not, appears there’s a lot of actions being scrutinized. Basically, claim employees are set up to fail. If you are handing claims the way they should be handled, you’re keeping the promise SF claims when you pay the premiums...but, to make the all the metrics, shortcuts are needed, and the policyholder is ripped off. Unethical, really sad.

This is my first response to anything on here. I call BS.
SF isn’t responsible for your health, good or bad.
