Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No more talk about starting wage going up to 15 for everyone

I haven't heard anymore talk of starting pay going up to 15 dollars has anyone else? Just curious of anyone managers are talking about it anymore. My guess is they will think they have really done something giving the big ole 2 per cent raise and all the people who didn't get the 15 will continue to have jobs added to them especially jobs where people who get paid 15 to 18 dollars your well we can still do that jobs but only for the pay we have now. But I am just guessing I sure hope they do right thing and give all employees a raise to 15 and ones that are making that now will get a bump to. But I won't hold my breathe cause they are not known for doing what is right.

Carts equal no skills. No position at Sam’s should start at 15. Congrats on your 25 years of pushing carts. You would be team leader of carts if it was up to me😉. I’ve worked carts before and still do on once in a wile. U just have to be in good shape. Don’t live at home but I think that those people are pretty smart lol. No bills😉

I’m a 25 plus year associate and I think the minimum starting wage for any position in the club should start out at least 15 an hour except maybe gas station which is a useless position. People shouldn’t make 15 an hour to sit in a hut and play on there phone. For all you chumps that thinks carts shouldn’t I hope one day all your cart guys walk out and you have to go push carts all day and hopefully it’s in the summer time. Most inside thinks carts is beneath them. Happy employees means better member service and just maybe people caring about there job again. For the hero that’s talk8ng about money management I’m betting you live at home with mommy and daddy probably in your 30’s and let them pay for everything. We work for one of the richest families in the world and paying there employees a little more money would help the employee and also them. If we make more money chances are we buy more from the very place we work at.

I bet people crying for 15 a hour have no clue how to manage money. Things u don’t need to live on. TV, internet, smart phone, cable. I could go on and on. Money management is what u guys need. Not a raise. Also Sam’s is now longer a good career with the 2% raise. My advice find something better then Sam’s.

Not to mention managers been preventing certain people from going to these high paying areas because of they afraid those departments will collapse.

First off it doesn't matter how much they pay because it's going to automated system anyways. Second did u really work ur way up or were u just friends with the right people because u kiss a–? My guess it's the second part. Why do some of u think others that work at Sam's do not deserve 15 hour. I am guessing u already make more than 15 and u could actually care less about people that don't. There are so many people that been in company for very long time and they don't make 15 hour. They work hard everyday don't call in but then u have those few that will kiss a– to move up and actually are not even qualified to move up. Yet because they are friends with managers or leads they get job no matter what. So don't talk to me about working hard and moving up. That maybe the way it is at ur store but I assure u it is not that way at all stores especially ours. I can promise u ones complaining that 15 hour is to much for Cashiers or cart attendants or even membership team can't even do the job or wouldn't be able to handle it. I just don't understand why some of u think it's ridiculous to pay people a living wage. you say because it will close stores that is c-ap they will close anyways, Just like daily prices are going up and I even read membership prices are going up. So please tell me why is it ok for some to work just as hard and most even harder than some making 15 to 18, and even doing same jobs as people making that much not to get a raise to at least 15 dollars? Why can't some of u support and hope for others to get paid more instead of downing them and being so negative about them when if u don't work in there store u have no idea how it's is. I tell u how it is on ours if a job comes open they give it to someone before it's even posted or anyone even knows about it. That someone has at times not even been there 90 days but they are friends with a manager or they kiss a– and they get the job. Then they go post it so they can do there little interviews knowing the whole time they already have someone for the job. This shows first hand how it is in our store just by looking at our leads and managers. It's ridiculous because some of us for example ME have to the leads and mangers because they can't even do the job I Do. That is how it is in our store. So stop pretending like it's so easy to move up because u have no idea except for how it is on your own store. And if it is done like it should be then be happy because I bet most stores it's not. So how about step back put urself in some people's jobs that don't make 15 and just be happy for them if they ever do which is not likely.

Give EVERYONE a raise to $15/hour?

You're really begging for this company to close stores, eliminate positions, and step up their quest to automate as much of the business as they can.

Why not work your way up to 15 plus a hour like a lot of us have instead of asking for a hand out.

Floor people do work very hard ! BUT....I would not trade the floor for a cashier or cart job at all !! Oh my goodness cashiers and cart folk definitely deserve 15 per hour. But sad to say it is likely not going to happen at Sam's . As a long term associate I would be happy if they just tell me each day what to do and then leave me be to get it done.

U know I am so sick of people saying get a higher paying job. That not as easy as u think. And I know what Cashiers and other so called low paying jobs are hard work. So shut the hell up. U have no idea what people go through dealing with these members. So sick of hearing how floor people work so hard. Well so do membership Cashiers and car attendants. U running ur mouth bet u can't come up there and take the c-ap we do day after day. So troll on and shut the hell up. What is it to u of they get a raise or not? Why can't u just want the best for people instead of trying to be hateful and say c-ap like u just did. Smdh

$15/hr for Cashiers and any other low rung positions still not making $15/hr will NEVER come to pass. If you want better pay, get trained and move to a different department.
