Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Very bad news? Wait for it...? Gains/Losses?

Amidst all the rhetoric, speculations, rumors, stick ups and downs, previous layoffs, etc. what are we left with? A disenchanted, won’t touch the kool-aid, take a dump on the floor kind of work culture. That’s sad folks. Really sad. For those that were around prior to project nickel, did you honestly feel the same way you claim to now? If yes, then why stay? If not, I’m inclined to ask the same. Listen every job comes with its own pros and cons. I get that. Been around the block. However, as much as it can aggregate me at times, I do really love my job. I find this site useful as it keeps us all abreast of potential “what’s to come” kind of possibilities but lately it’s all becoming more confusing to me and I’m hoping you or someone else can clarify.
We hear a lot of bad news coming or things are going to change. And some already have. My question is how can we acquire a new plan, roll out new programs, very expensive project developments, handing out employee bonuses, continue with other projects and improvements and potentially be talking mergers, sales, or going out of business. None of that makes a lick of sense to me. Is it all just a facade they are painting for us? Shouldn’t it all be moving in the opposite direction if any of that were true?

I love it here. Still here, doing my second job on Molina time. No one can really figure it out, except me a course. Hope we all stay afloat as I love dual paychecks coming in while I do next to nothing and seem to get increases and decent bonuses over time for the very tiny work I ever do there. I’m going to continue to milk this cow till there is nothing left!

Do I feel the same as pre project nickel? Nope. Do Ioathe my job? Nope. Do I love it and feel passionate about it anymore? Nope. This is a job. It pays the bills. No other job could match what I make now, so no point in leaving because I’m not utterly miserable. I’ve also put in a lot of years in and feel why just up and leave when I’ve earned at least being laid off for no good reason and at least get a potential severance. Looks better on a resume then quitting. Just facts. This is a job with a new leader who cares about money- not me. Not you. So I’ll do my job the best of my ability and collect my paycheck. Do I think more layoffs are coming? Yes. Yes I do.

We stay because we want to be laid off to collect unemployment for a minute. Why is that so hard to understand? It’s been said a thousand times.
