AT&T media group lay off notice - dec 2nd

Some of the m&e folks received the letter a bit early due to mistake but the layoff is due on dec 2nd.

telecom exec's can't run world class competitive media companies. sorry, but T exec's are not the smartest guys in the room in every regard, contrary to their belief. telecom guys know telecom. media guys know media. see how wall street bets the next 6 to 12 months on T and find out.

they buy a satellite cable tv company and then a year later announce there will be no more launching of satellites. WTH -

Funny how when a brainless executive makes a boneheaded deal to buy a Satellite video distribution company, a business that AT&T knows nothing about, he keeps his job and others lose theirs. I remember that same executive extolling the virtues of Satellites and how they were superior to fiber etc. Of course, not only was DTV a melting ice cube but AT&T helped them along by applying the arrogant AT&T method of customer management. Sad days in El Segundo.
