The Assistant Manager position was replaced with the Client Relationship Consultant position. Now they are hiring Business-Banking Development Consultants to work in the branches according to the article in American Banker. Do you think those positions are to replace the Branch Managers? They always expect the Managers to be out on business calls all the time so that would make sense. The Assistant Managers are the ones that ran the branches as they will soon find out. What’s your opinion?

They will be eliminating the BM’s , the original plan was eliminate all BM’s within 5 miles of another branch and require each manager to dual manage multiple branches. They canceled that last minute due to lack of staffing but the plan was to roll out more cuts in January but they currently have hiring freeze and will cut BM’s very soon.
Hub Managers not Branch Managers is my
Guess.
So many BMs abused making business calls
Branch managers will now be concentrating on the branch. No more business calls or no more disappearing for four and five hours at a time saying that you’re making business calls. You will be required to coach your employees and run your branch. It will be a wake up call for a few and a welcome change for others
