Just wondering if we have new Layoffs soon around the corner with queues low and slow...anyone heard anything?

I would never consider going above and beyond or working my 'butt off' for a company that's selling out it workers and policy holders. I would never consider volunteering for anything with these bozos. I would never consider joining the low level management tier and helping to stalk and push my fellow co-workers out of a job - as per upper management policies. A Humana job is best for those who want a niche job while concurrently having another outside financial outlet in the works. Do not consider making it your life's work unless you are making over a million a year here. Avoid all office politics. I recommend nodding and agreeing with manager. I also use the phrase 'I understand' a lot. Keep the stalkers pacified. Consider this job a stepping stone to something better.
I don’t work for Humana at Home. I work in Case Management & as I said my boss does not stand up for us & she does not discipline people who are not doing their job. I know a few of us are working our butts off & going above and beyond. We volunteer for everything that is offered & constantly do more than is expected. It’s just sad because when you hear year after year that know one can be exceptional it just makes you feel defeated and think to yourself “why try so hard then”? It’s true that a boss can make a work environment toxic, it’s happened so many times at Humana & other places, yet upper management does nothing about it. People truly don’t always quit the job, they quit their toxic bosses.
Perhaps there were no exceptional ratings allowed at Humana at home. Trust me there are still people getting an overall exceptional rating throughout Humana. However you have to be innovative, think outside the box, go above and beyond and work your butt off. Hardly the work ethic that most people have.
You are not informed how raises are decided. Your Coach Can make you exceptional as long as they have the courage to tell others they are not making the grade. Your coach is given an overall amount and the ability to make a case for above or below average raises. if you got 1.5% your Coach is avoiding the truth and just giving everyone the same. They won't admit that, the truth is hard to speak for some.
Well every member on our team was told the exact same thing: we cannot be rated as exceptional unless we are doing something exceptional at the corporate level. My boss also agreed that our jobs have no involvement at the corporate level, therefore it is not obtainable. She was told by her manager that nobody in our department could be labeled as exceptional. We hear the same explanation every single year. We all get marked as full & we all get the exact same raise. The performance of each employee doesn’t matter. Again most people at Humana are in fear of being laid off so they do not “rock the boat.” My boss definitely doesn’t. She doesn’t discipline people who don’t do their job or confront any issues. Maybe it depends on the region you work for? Mine is a mess. We do not get any recognition for the work we do & education doesn’t matter. We are never told anything about the awards that are an option for employees & are never given the opportunity to advance our careers within the company. They make the job descriptions tailored to their friends that they want to have the position. The only way to advance would be to go to a different region, but everyone we say we are interested in a position we get told that there are so many changes & that it’s not a good idea because there might be lay offs in that department. I don’t think any department at Humana is safe from lay offs at this point. It’s a difficult time to work at Humana.
Our boss flat out told us that no exceptional ratings were allowed this year
12WUmI8i-4soy I disagree, I’ve been rated an overall exceptional for five years straight by three different leaders. If your performance is exceptional, you will be rated as such.
That is unusual for a layoff in january. Usually hear after all the numbers are finalized for end of year...usually february.
Heard today something this week.
Exactly. Humana doesn’t even allow the opportunity for an employee to considered exceptional on their annual review. The managers cannot rate you as exceptional period. They must rate you as basically just doing your job or not doing your job. It’s sad that we are all categorized as just doing our jobs when a lot of us do far more than others. We all get the same raise too but they lie & say it’s based on performance. Do they really think we believe that? We all talk & we all get the same raises every year. We all hear the same canned BS too during our performance reviews. It’s really sad that they are robots & truly not genuine at all & then they wonder why we fill out the employee satisfaction surveys the way that we do.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain stuffing his pockets with amazing amounts of cash. Continue working like an obedient St Bernard until you are booted into the unemployment line. Or focus on a class action law suit nailing Humana for age discrimination and crimes against its employees. Alas, you will never become amazing working for Humana - unless you are member of the insider management (swamp) elite.
Focus on being amazing?? Only a Humana management robot speaks like that. I am focused on reality and paying my amazing bills
No. There are no RIFs planned. Focus on being amazing instead of finding things to worry about.
