Here's some food for thought though: Your manager isn't there to "bail you out" of every single situation. Sure they can support, but "Oh my lines are backed up, Manager COME RESCUE ME AND FIGURE THIS OUT!!" isn't a realistic expectation.

Some of you need to figure out that a Manager isn't responsible for bailing you out of every problem. You too, have critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Use them for once.

What’s funny is at my club the only manager worth anything and that did EVERYTHING was fired a couple of days ago...total setup (and he knew it was coming). The team lead he had was worthless...he not only did his job as Manager but the TL. This particular TL was up the butt of the bakeries TL and the Store Manager knew it and did nothing. Sams is a toxic place to work and only the sinister will survive!

Judging by the positive and negative the other two posts have received I would say we have a decent number of salaried people reading.

Like the other post said we don't have to constantly check in the office to know your there. Because when your a front end manager and the only salaried person in the building and YOUR front end is blowing up, but your no where to be found. Call you on the radio about lines backing up, you call the floor for runners...get off your butt and support your front end for 20 mins but also serve the members!

Funny thing too some of you managers need to brush up on how to do your job...even the basics. When I have to show my manager how to set end caps meaning what product should be there but also what direction the pallets should be going, yeah pull your head out. Oh yeah when I got that manager from one of the restructures my CM actually laughed with me and another salaried person about it lol. They said, "I would have to keep an eye on them." They make twice as much as me! Lol I gotta baby sit them? An it was everything I showed them when we needed people during the week...some, not all of you salaried people around worth the paper you check isn't printed on.

They changed your dress code to jeans so you could be on the floor helping...now come get dirty with us an earn your money.

To the managers that do actually come an zone regularly, drive a lift, spot, cashier, help with event set up, layouts/planograms or member service THANK YOU!! I can't tell you how much we appreciate it!! Lead by example is what I say an you few are doing it.

One does not have to monitor the offices all day when a manager is no where to be found. There have been times when I radio for a manager, get no response. When I go to look for one, they are in the office texting or plain ignoring the radio call. This is the so called "busy holiday season", yesterday we only had one manager on the front end. And that manager was stressed to the max. Our head manager is never around.
