That depends...
How many sick days do you have? ;-)

I gave them one day! Told them on a Thursday that Friday was my last day. This was after months of warning them that the scheduling s—ed and them never address it. The Kronos scheduling was the last straw for me!

No notice. As soon as you can start your other job, bounce. They'll just cut you as soon as you tell them you're putting in your notice. They don't deserve any notice.

Hi,
I'm so glad I left the company this past december, I was retiring anyway just like my wife. I saw many changes with the company since working there for 13 year's. Like other's have stated, the 'old' lowe's has been gone for some time now ! At least at my store, I've seen many people try and leave the 'old fashioned' way by giving two week's notice only to be told "don't worry about doing that, go ahead and leave now". Rather than take that chance, I went on lowes.net and printed off the voluntary resignation form, one night I was working the closing shift, and it was a friday night. So I decided that's when I was going to leave..and on my own terms ! I had been getting everything in order ahead of time, cleaning out my locker..etc. So that's what I did, at the end of my shift I handed my paperwork to one of the closing asm's, he said I understand..I still feel like it's the best decision I've made for a LONG time !!

tell them you are giving two weeks notice because you have taken a job at a competitor.....they will generally walk you out and pay you the two weeks. At least that is how they've done it at our store over the years as this has happened several times.

In the "old" days it was professional courtesy to give two weeks. More if you had a difficult to fill position. Employers did the same. Sadly the "old" days are long gone. Neither party owes the other anything. I have seen employees give two weeks notice only to be told by management to clock out and leave immediately. Whatever you decide be prepared to be let go on the spot and with no notice.

Give them nothing. Take all you can. They consider you a useful id–t to be disposed of at any time. Treat them with this same respect.

How much time would they give you if they fired you? Give them the same!

30 seconds or 30 feet out the door! They will get the message!

Cut a notch in the top of your vest. When the time comes cut it from top to bottom and let both pieces hit the floor. Then walk away and don't look back.

I gave them two days, which is two more than they gave a lot of people.

All they will say is your job title and how long you worked there. In most states if they say anything negative about you, you can sue the person and the company.

Honestly I just walked.

They can let you go at any point in time with no notice.

You can walk any time you want.
