AAM is having problems with moving parts to different facilities. The customers aren't happy about the moves.
Why move parts? Because AAM is moving the work because the plants will be closed. The work will be done at other AAM facilities. AAM refers to plant closures as "rationalization".
I heard an AAM plant that does vertical forging on a Sumitomo press will be closed by 2021 as the work will be consolidated to another AAM forging facility.
I didn't get the name of the specific plant to be closed.
