Anyone else have those ineffective supervisors that can’t manage a department to safe their life. Maybe they only got the job because they are “nice”? These are the ones with no hustle, no work ethic and require everyone else’s help to perform the bare minimum tasks they need to get through the day? But hey, they’re nice.

when I worked at Lowe's all the fishing and drinking buddies kept there jobs, these department managers could not lead a STARVING MOUSE to a piece of cheese.
one great customer calls a disable cashier unfit and told her that he was going to cut her throat, and they walk out with eight dewalt drills, saw this young lady crying and so upset, went to my asm and informed him of this situation, and he did not care and curse me out and said I would not have a job, and yes this mo–n with his boss still works there, in fort mill sc, NOW TELL ME what is wrong with that picture, this one statement says it all, anyone want the real facts about anything call me
News flash: No one wants to work at Lowe’s, so don’t expect the cream of the crop in terms of management.
On a side note, the OP sounds like one of the entitled twits that feels just because they have “put their time in”, they are entitled to be given a management position. Hah.
How can they do their job in the department when the store manager has them covering everywhere else checking in deliveries closing the front end and doing the myriad tasks they want done now that they forget tomorrow and to top it off cut part timers hours in their department. Mine is great he just doesn't have enough hands
You must work at our store. Ours got his job because he’s fishing buddies with the ASM. He does nothing to help appliances period!
His days are spent in the ASM office setting on his butt. When he’s scheduled in appliances he’s never there. So customers walk out because of no assistance.
*ASM's
Adams are either cruel or both ineffectual AND ignorant of their departments. Wouldn't really improve much.
You work at my store!
We have several like you described.
1 - fishing/hunting buddy of the ASM who hired him; does the ASMs work but is never on the floor.
2 - nice enough kid but spends all his time in his former dept.
3 - worked at Home Depot, got hired because our SM thinks he’s sticking it to the man with his Home Depot hires. Spends all his sniffing around the front end or in the break room with his other HD buddies.
4 - spends all her time at the paint desk or home decor, moves at sloth like pace, won’t learn how to cut blinds or M2O system.
Lumber, garden, front and back end supervisors are all good.
