Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Menard’s Rapidly Closing The Gap

While Captain Marvelous & Little Joe are hyper-focused on Depot. Menard’s is quickly adding New Stores. And every new store is located near a Lowe’s.

In the near future Lowe’s will become the distant number 3 home improvement retailer in America’s heartland.

Lowe’s is losing business by the day under the new leadership. Customers have grown tired of the understaffed and understocked stores. The stores now resemble Big Lott’s with clearance merchandise crowding the main aisles. The stores look like the middle management that visits them weekly, old and tired.

While Lowe’s is focusing on appliance rentals, PSE leads, EPP’s, and details. Menards actually focuses on selling products that customers want at prices customers like.

Menard’s isn’t shackled by stock prices, Hedge Fund investors, or Wall Street. They actually still operate their business for long term success and growth.

Lowe’s has went from opening new stores annually and putting a 3D printer on the Space Station. To now closing stores, laying off thousands of employees, and outsourcing.

Lowe’s has become Sears 2.0 and has started the same downhill slide. It will take years for Lowe’s to close their last store. But make no mistake, that day will come.

Lowe's has never even whispered that I should work without being paid whereas Menards does it to everyone. Just because they're expanding doesn't mean they're a better employer.

Thanks to the recent CEO who is destroying the company one bad decision after the other.

You can say whatever you want about Menards. They’re expanding and Lowe’s is shrinking. That’s a fact!!!

At the Home Depot near my store they have a display stating “we’re fully staffed with knowledgeable associates.” It’s in the entrance about in the same spot as our jobs board is; kind of mocking us I think.

yeah...but doesnt menards use the "chinese overtime" aka fluctuating workweek game? if you think the grass is greener just because theyre a private company id think again. they also have nutty rules for how someone can get into management....and once through their program you will be relocated somewhere else. anyone ever looked into john menard? guy is nuts. personally i love the store....but i think theres also a lot more to how the menards family runs things once you dig deeper. been fined a bunch too.

I heard Lowe’s has cash flow problems as well. Our installers have told us they’re waiting 60 to 90 days to be paid.

I have a neighbor that works at Menards in millwork. He’s been there 5 years. He said he made $47,000 last year. I wouldn’t call that bad compared to what we get.

All that money is by used to buy back the stock, build the high tech tech center and hire programmers at $117,000/year salary.

At my store we think Lowe’s has cash flow problems because installers are refusing to work until they are paid. One said he hasn’t been paid in 3 months.

Menards is a terrible employer. They pressure their employees to take 'training' off the clock which is largely conservative anti-union propaganda. They should be fined into the dirt for that kind of exploitation.

There is no help in the stores anymore! Customers are walking out and going to HD and Menard's

We have several new Menards opening in my area to. I’d like to know where all the money disappeared to from all of Marvin’s cutting? There’s not more profit. And we know it hasn’t been invested in the stores or employees. Who took all that money?
