I no longer work at Oracle, and they overpaid me on my last commission statement. What will happen if I don’t pay them back?

Dealing with this now, what was the result here? I just quit and was overpaid by 400. That's a lot to me, so I would like to avoid paying it back.
I had the same experience; I received a registered letter followed up by letters once a month or so. Latest threat is that since they have to pay taxes on the amount "I owe" by November, I'll be accountable for those taxes as well.
I consulted a lawyer and got a straight answer: Oracle can sue to recover the funds, and you would likely lose that suit which could include costs since laws side with the employer in these cases.
Regardless, they most likely won't stop asking for the repayment. So there's no easy answer - pay it back or wait for the suit. I've chosen the latter and circular file each request without opening it.
Fight and don’t let Oracle screw ya
Fight it by ignoring it - don’t respond, don’t engage. Don’t consider paying until they file a lawsuit, which they most likely won’t. If they do, hire an attorney to negotiate how much you may pay back.
The question really is how much money was it and is it worth Oracles time fighting you for it.
Are they talking $100 or 100k
I would suggest fighting it. I worked for the Comp team. I say fight it.
