I want to work at Oracle as my dad worked there until the mid-2000s. Dad says it's an awesome place with awesome tech talent so I was hoping to get a job there.

Netsuite is probably hiring
Oracle has a unique process that's called "reverse hiring".

What he/she meant is they build one, scratch that, build again, scratch again......until the whole group get scratched..

”Give me a break HR. For how years till now, you have been building cloud from scratch?”

Join OCI, we are building cloud from scratch.
Give me a break HR. For how years till now, you have been building cloud from scratch?

Obvious troll post. No idealistic, naive, young professional would ask such a question on this jaded, cesspool of a site. Be gone.
Don't waste your time.
It’s a good place to work
I heard they need to hire more lawyers and compliance staff. haha
My poor child, that was then and this is now - today’s oracle has nothing in common with your dad’s oracle. You don’t want to work at today’s oracle. Go work as Salesforce instead. Good luck !
OCI is hiring junior engineers in Seattle. Just know you will be abused and marginalized and have your soul destroyed. Then once you are of senior level you will get laid off and replaced with a junior engineer. Good Luck.
It USED to be an awesome place to work. Still has some terrific people but the last ten years has seen a steep decline and now people are beating a path to the exit.
You’ll be disappointed.
Well, if nobody else will hire you at least it's a paycheck until you get laid off.
A job is job. Whoever pays more, take the job. Oracle is no different, people will always be people, to survive, it’s all political. Remember it’s who you know, not what you know. Some managers are dumb as a rock they are there because they know people to protect them same as rank and file employees. I don’t why some people even have a job at Oracle, they know nothing but running their mouth and kissing up.
HR and legal - they’re busy planning layoffs
