All cloud requires Nimbula. It is the magic sauce.

The real disaster is the junk OCI implementation of Identity Management that they tried to develop within OCI from a clean sheet of paper with a handful of developers. Typical boneheaded DJ arrogance and not-invented-here syndrome. IDCS had to go, because it uncovered all the glaring gaps and incompatibilities in what Seattle was trying to develop. The chief architect of IDCS quit in disgust at the mistreatment by DJ’s hipsters.

That's because IDM at Oracle is a disaster.

IDCS = Identity Cloud Service

Was supposed to provide identity service for oracle cloud. It was a disaster. If I remember correctly a non-ha deployment required 26 VMs. It also had a circular dependency on nimbula, nimbula required IDCS for identity on startup while IDCS required nimbula for its VMs. Good riddance.
